And Melbourne and the Bulldogs have something we want? I don't care who he goes to, as long as it's to the team that gives us the best deal. And looking at the respective lists, I'd likely ask for a draft pick, and go with whichever team offers us the highest. I can't see anyone offering a top 10 draft pick for him, so it very well could be Carlton's pick 11 that is the best offer if they want him that badly.

it sounds like pick 21 is the best we can hope for, and whilst id like slightly higher its pretty fair

They got him with pick 16 and I think he has showed great signs. He is a half back man/midfielder. His run and carry from the back line will be great for us and will allow Shaw to move in to the midfield.
I see him play every other we week , he is not that good, not overly quick and his kicks float through the air without speed. He is very much a stop start player as well, doesnt take the game on (that maybe game plan). Just cause he was pick 16 in his draft doesnt mean hes worth the same now

Do Essendon have a first round pick?

If not, the Dogs and Dees trump what they have.

I rate him as a 1st rounder, he didn't struggle to get a game for port. Missed 5 games with glandular fever and then had ankle surgery. Pick 17 for a 20 year in a year where the draft is very weak and shallow is a bargain. I don't think Port will trade him for pick 17 though.

Port are Nazis on the trade table, they would want Pendles and Cloke, and our first 2 picks.

Who do we have to recruit so that Shaw can stay in his best position?

Hi there you Pie supporters. I know its the so called silly season with all types of rumours going on, thus may i ask for comments in reference to the Pies looking at Fevola.Could list him as a rookie or maybe even a vertran , thus minimum salary. Yes call it stupid, but think about it.... he kicked 105 goals in about 13 games in the strong Ovens and Murray comp and some 63 goals in 7 games up in Darwin over the summer.( I know.. these comps are nothing like the elite level) Yes he is 30 years of age, but I feel he has the desire if given one last shot..... for little cost. I know im most likely wrong, but would any of you posters see this as a maybe.

Thanks you for your respectful tone, and I'll try and respond in a like manner.

It's not going to happen. Lou Richards has more chance of getting a spot on our list for 2013. Fev is gone, will never play in the AFL again, and it's time we all just walked away from the idea.

I have a name who I haven't seen branded around much who I think would be worth a look into.

Andy Otten! Fell out of favor with the Crows this year after Sam Shaw came on leaps and bounds. He was a super talent before his knee reco but struggled this year. I think he's a good player who can use the ball well.

Not sure on his Contract status but he can play tall and small down back and was being groomed to play further up the ground. Interesting to see whether Crows see him as a required player.

Just checked and his contracted until end 2013 so it would need to be a decent trade on Adelaide's behalf.
