So hypothetically if Adelaide said no to what Sydney is currently offering which their pick 22 and Jesse White,could we dangle pick 17 or 18 and ask fopr parker in return?

It is possible but why would we up our offer if no one else is in the market? If they send him to the draft and another team get him so be it, it is very much like the Luke ball situation in some respects. Would you trade out say something beams for him?

The thing is he is internally rated and worth more to the swans on the list than traded

Well at the time of the Ball trade, we did offer St Kilda Wellingham or at least he was dangled out there trying to get picks from North I think (who also turned it down). At the time it was thought it was a fair offer or attempt to trade & in retrospect it was more than fair it was just that Ross was being stubborn so it came to a head. I don't think that was an ideal way for it to happen for anyone - both clubs & player.

If the Swans are fair dinkum they will offer something they think is fair and if Adel are silly enough to say no then they will get burnt. If internally the Swans rated J. White then fair enough, somehow I suspect they do not. The question is what is a fair offer. What is do you think is a fair offer for Tippett leaving bias aside?

Personally I think all things considered his fair value would be pick 10.

problem is we have very very little we are giving up. This situation weeks of butcher (tippett's manager) sold us the go home clause. Either way does it is almost a pointless question as to what is fair but what is the highest bid on the table situation

Parker is going to be a gun. Quality kid and player.

Sydney will screw the Crows over Tippett. No necessarily intentionally but Sydney holds all the power here. The best the Crows will get is pick 22 + some change. Sydney will not offer up any young up and coming players. Why would they?

If no trade, Tippett goes into the PSD where he'll get all the way to Sydney with an inflated contract for the 1st 2 years or something similar.

It's the nature of the beast.

Do you really think the Blues will pass up Tippett with pick 11?

They seem to indicate they had enough room to fit the $1M+ prize tag for Cloke into their cap and given their desperation for a key forward they would be climbing over themselves to trade pick 11 for Tippy.

I don't even think he would get past GWS given their need for a backup ruckman. You would think they would have just as much if not more cap space available than Sydney so money shouldnt be an issue. And with 5 first round selection I'm sure they would happily give up pick 12 for him.

Unless Sydney start showing a bit more respect and offer one of their best 22 to either gain a lower draft pick or include in the deal with the Crows then the Crows will call their bluff and send him to the draft.

If the offer is #22 then Adelaide may just on principle (Ross Lyon) style say no let him walk to the draft.

The only danger then I guess is GWS, who may have the cash and need experienced big bodies, who would love to steal a player off their big brother to heighten their rivallry, plus he will still be coming home to his family.

The threat may lie, but it wont happen.

If it did, it would undo a lot of great work they've done to date, namely in drafting 2 gun KPF.

Personally I would prefer to give up and have a feeling swans would do the same. It would be folley to pick up and player we may not need and sacrifice a young player directly after a premiership

Guys I do not want to go on about how my mail with Dasher was correct etc but now you can all believe that I'm not here to spin rubbish and cause a stir. I have received some mail over the weekend that we are not done with the trade period and there may be one last piece to the Collingwood jigsaw that has not been put in place yet. There is still a bit to play out here as Dekka does not rate the draft as highly as other recruiters and that we were keen to collect these picks to then on-trade in a somewhat massive deal. Let's wait n see but I think this could be another exciting week for us.
