Where is Luke Parker for two first round picks coming from?..

I thought the rumour was Parker for one first rounder, which Sydney would then on-trade with their own first rounder to Adelaide for Tippett?

IF we were offered Parker for one of our first rounders, then I'd pull the trigger- he's a player.

Why does Parker need to garner a pick for Adelaide? Why wouldn't Adelaide ask for Parker with pick 22?

He's a Vic boy- Crows will probably feel they've been burned enough in recent times by the 'go-home' factor.

I'd say if any talk of Parker is true it would be on his terms and he may have stated I'll only go if its to a Victorian team.... That'd just be a guess though.

I guess the thing is that our 3 1st round draft picks may only be worth pick 30+ from previous drafts. If Hine doesnt rate this years crop of young player we are wasting our time taking them if we can add experience, mature bodies and proven footballers to our list that make an immediate impact.

I'm happy to keep all 17, 18 + 20 if Hine see's value there but otherwise I say blow it!
We have bargained EXTREMELY hard to get these lowish picks and I'm inclined to believe that this is a well planned coup on the part of the club.

I believe we will use them and use them well, here we have two master recruiters allied to a young and incisive coach who is seeking to transform his team from a blunt instrument to a laser scalpel.

These picks, taken after the upgrade trades we have done for both Q and Young give us an unparalleled opportunity to refocus the skill set of our side whilst we are still at the top AND with young side already.

In looking forward to assess what type of player we may be targeting we only have to look at the first two trades brought of by this new team.

Q is Dawes with attitude.

Young is all speed and attacking penetration.

I believe Bucks is looking to transform us from counter punchers to a side capable of splitting an opposition asunder.

We have lacked attacking flair for a while now and I believe it is this, above all that Bucks seeks to attain.

Yep. I rate the kid, I'd part with one of those picks for him. Not two though.

Ja, Luke Ball's heir apparent he would become. Well worth spending pick 18 on, given he'll only turn 20 years old this week.

But if Carlton offered 11... We can't offer better without 2 picks. Highly improbable.

Not sure they offered 11- one of the posts I read mentioned trading pick 11 for Parker and pick 22 (no chance in hell Sydney would do that).

This really doesnt say if you are talking draft or using them to recruit experience.....

So sorry NT, I would think it would mainly be on the draft but Buckley has so far shown he has his own ideas about recruiting so I wouldn't be in the least surprised if he took any opportunity that may arise to suit his plans.

I just feel he has a game plan in mind that this current side isn't quite able to execute in the way that he wants. Buckley was an incisive and destructive (to the opposition) player in his playing days and I see no reason for him to change that attitude as a coach.

The side he inherited was talented in its way, young and vibrant for the most part but essentially reactive and defence first moulded, this wouldn't align well with Bucks mentality IMHO.

After the compensation picks became settled on Friday evening, Collingwood met with the suns late this afternoon (again from good authority) and have tabled pick 21 to the suns for Tom Hickey.

Just beat me too it. This would answer our "where is our 2nd ruck going to come from" questions. He had a pretty solid year, and could pretty well come straight in. What do we think about this??
Ruck is a more crucial need than another midfielder from Sydney right at this very moment, so I like the Idea. Bluey McKenna shouldn't screw us too badly on the deal one would hope.

We pay pick 21 for a string bean second tier level ruck, then Bluey is making us grab our ankles!
