i think josh is going to be a very good footballer for us in the future. Has had injuries this year but has played some strong games. Very close to a senior call up IMO.
 
Foot problems - Finall seems to be over the worst of it now. Has dogged him 2 years running.

He is a pretty strong fella and in the last few games has impressed at VFL level. I don't want to lose him but if he wanted to go home I am sure we could work some sort of trade. I think they will both become gun players in the future, so if we traded them now we don't have to worry about losing them when they get older and better because they are home sick.
 
To be honest Sunny with Luke Ball nearing the end JT is the ideal replacement - if he can stay on the park. I think if the selection panel believe he can get and stay fit they would be reluctant to part with him.
 
ok back to rumour thread.

with the AFLPA keen on byes or less games to reduce player load thru the long season, but the AFL/TV wanting maximum games every weekend for 22 weeks, shall we see players getting a deal where they play a maximum number of H&A games per year, rather than potentially every game ?

eg. 22 rounds, but players only allowed to play a maximum 20, or even 18 of those.

in that scenario we would need every quality player we could retain to ensure sufficient full time & part time mids are available to cover all games. players like wellingham then get their chance (like QB game in 2011) to be the midfield star when normally they get minimal mid time.

i cant see what other option can exist to satisfy the AFLPA's wants and the AFL fulfil its TV committment.
 
Anyone else hear the rumour of Wellingham to Melbourne for pick 13, then Pick 13 to the GC for Caddy?

I'd probably be OK with that plus we keep our first round pick.

Excuse the numpty question, but presumably the player would have to agree to any trade? If so, why would Wellingham even consider Melbourne? If, and I guess that's a big IF, he want's to leave, then surely the only logical clubs for him would be in WA, or those who have a very realistic tilt at the flag within his career, of which he's currently at one of those clubs.

This less a rumour than someone's speculation. The clubs wouldn't even have talked about this yet, particularly Collingwood who is in finals contention still with Wellingham a participating player.

There wouldn't be any trade discussions from Collingwood until after our season has completed.

Yeah thats what i thought, weird that pretty much every rumour is involving a collingwood player who is still playing footy....

Of course Wellingham's manager may have approached Club x in regards to his possible availability, but any talk of draft picks being swapped for him is ludacris as we will not be negotiating any trades until our season is complete and Bucks sits down with the heir-achy and a complete their end of season review.

I doubt Sharrod Wellingham will give an AFL career to join Club X. They way he has been playing recently and with that hair style of his it would probably be the right career choice for him.:p:D

This isn't really a rumour, is it? More of a potential answer that you are asking about to a specific problem.

If wellingham is a required player then Blair is a required player, and o'brien is a required player... hell our whole best 25 are required players by that logic.

Wellingham is deff one we can afford to lose, he is pretty overrated and his output week by week is okay

i dont watch every GC game but im pretty sure Caddy has shown a LOT this year. He was 4th in their goal kicking and 6th in tackles after missing quiet a few games for memory. Im not sure how many gamse he played as the stupid GC website doesn't have a stats bit like ours does.. so annoying.

Reading through the GC forums and there were a few things I came across, although unlikely what are our thoughts about these if one were to happen? :rolleyes:

Caddy + Toy + 2nd Round + 3rd Round + 1st Round compo for Cloke? That way we save our pick 2 and still bring in a quality kid as well as Cloke?
