Heard Eddie being interviewed this morning on Triple M (Sydney) and he was talking about the Buddy situation and his desire to get out of the fishbowl that is Melbourne.
Eddie was laughing and pointed out that the there is no chance of a marquee footballer (even an AFL one) who enjoys his social life escaping the Sydney paparazzi - the player would be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Fair point I thought.

I do believe Dane Beams will be a future captain of Collingwood. Have said so since 2009.
Would be very disappointed to lose him, whatever we get in exchange.

Not so keen to get pick 1.
Look at GWS, they've got a list full of pick 1's and look where they finished this year.
Having talented kids means diddly squat if they don't have a framework of experience around them.
We already have a bunch of kids, we already have lost a bunch of experience. Shouldn't overdo it. IMO we should only trade out experienced players if they're superfluous to requirements, or they want out, or if it's in the clubs best interest not to have them.

You've said that about Daisy.... you've said that about Shaw..... Now Beams..... Every player on our list is expendable. Greater picture type stuff. I would rather ditch Shaw/Thomas/O'Brien/Swan/Sidebottom before Beams but if GWS said "Beams for #1, take it or leave it", i'd probably take it.

If beams wants out then pick 1 isn't going to cut the mustard IMO, I'd want pick 1 and Adams, beams is a superstar, a proven superstar.

Well if their is a consistent pattern to what we have been doing its that the brat pack/MM crew are the one's who are being moved on by the club. Dids gone, Shaw on the way, Daisy highly likley. Therefore the logical big out would be Swan as the final piece of the puzzle.
I have mixed feelings but it seems the brat pack has to go (according to Bucks). I have been told that the vast majority of the playing group is fully supportive of Bucks and his desire to clean up the attitude and professionalism of the playing group.

He is keen to get Boyd, but as soon as we get him, he'll pick on all his faults, and he will want him out in 2015. We are after the perfect player with no faults, and we are not scared to throw all players that have a couple of faults to get him. By him I mean the ONE, the ONLY player in history not to have a fault. Might be Boyd, even though he has played one game in six months.
