It's called pick1itis, it makes it's host think the no1 pick is the best player of all time.

Fact is you hope and prey you get a Dayne Beams with the no1 pick.

Josh Fraser was said to be the best player in his draft. It worries me that he hasn't played in the past six months. That is not good. He actually should really drop down the order because of it. I could understand why GWS went for someone else, given they have Patton and Cameron. Having an even younger kid in their forward line, makes it very vulnerable for a while.

Yep, just plugging holes with Lynch and White.. but I think we'll go McCarthy Harvey or Conlon at the draft

Harvey put up a very COD ordinary 20m time 3.22, that will struggle to get any break on good defenders.

Ben Brown posted a much more respectable time and also good time in the agility test.

Sounds like there doing the big boys first. Ben Brown (199cm forward) ran a 3.04 and Mitch Harvey (195cm forward) ran for 3.22 seconds.
Sean Lemmens - 2.95 seconds
Dwayne Wilson - 3.00 seconds
Luke Reynolds - 3.28 seconds

Ben Brown also did very well in the agility testing, with a time of 8.29 seconds.
And yeah, the Irishman Flynn recorded a 2.89 and then 2.83 second time.

Bit disappointed in D.Wilsons time of 3.00 as that small pacey mid/fwd type, wonder if he is carrying an injury.

I read Conlon was considered top 5 before injury, is this true and why has he fallen so far? Has to be more than injury surely, he's almost round 3 now

So ive had this rumour on Swan for a few weeks now (see my older posts). I got it from someone very close to him...
Still hoping it doesn't happen, because he is my all time favourite Pies player.
Bottom line, the story ive been told is he wants to play with his mates. He also reckons after the grand final win and then his brownlow, he basically couldn't leave his house during the day. He'd be swarmed anywhere he went.
I can understand why he would want to go... As much as it pains to say.

Fingers crossed he stays :)

Hmm interesting that this rumour is persisting and also coming from many sources now.

Going to be a hell of a trade period if even half the rumours are true.

It is purely to injury I would say as he missed the entire season with it, so I would guess the recruiters are having a hrd time in trying to gauge how much he may have improved if at all or if he in fact might of gone backwards.

He is a risk as there is no exposed form and many players have projected top 5 to go almost undrafted the year later.

Personally I would take him with our 2nd round pick think it is worth the risk especially if he tested reasonably well athletically.

He sounds perfect, 197cm pure forward but can ruck as well, beautiful foil for Grundy

I wanted Ben Brown as a rookie 3 years ago for the understudy role of Leigh Brown/Chuck Norris.

What were the knocks on him back then?

To be honest can't remember. Tweener i think was one, not dominating the lower Tassie team at the champs. Skills related or pace I can't remember. Don't think he involved himself enough may have been another, late to the game??

Cheers, hmm wonder if he has fixed all that up lol.

I haven't been following him but i'm pretty sure he's in the mix for a rookie spot this year. Probably best ask KM for a more solid answer.

Not sure whether anyone else reads EBW but the other day Scout asked a question about Daniel Gorringe who is a GC ruck taken at pick 10 in the 2010 draft but has been injury prone ever since.

Scout apparently works for the pies in a recruiting role and it was an odd post. Like he was trying to draw out attention to this kid. Anyone heard anything or know anything about him?

Scoutie also said, this will be an amazing next few weeks for us. Lots happening.

The club may just have a plan. I can sense a real left fielder that no one sees coming.

From Derick Hine on the Official Collingwood site;
"We don’t see the need to address our ruck situation given the development of Brodie Grundy and Jarrod Witts and we’ll be retaining Ben Hudson as a bit of a back up there for them, but hopefully Ben doesn’t have to play at all".

Something big is brewing... This is exclusive so we aren't going to release any details until we have the whole story. You will NOT believe this.

Just to clarify, our exclusive will not be broken until we have confirmed it from all involved parties. The story will not be broken elsewhere first as we have kept it under extremely tight wraps.

We can now reveal that tonight's news will involve the Collingwood and Carlton Football Clubs. We are hoping still to release the details around 10:30pm!

The plot thickens....please don't let it be Swan going.
