Would love the trade, just couldnt see freo just wanting to swap clarke for him.....Clarke can be a very good ruckman for years at Collingwood, and although I would like to keep Wellers, Ruckman is a main priority I think so I would do the deal asap. Just hope if Barret is right with the call, then Freo will go for it....

Clarke is a massive talent. I would swap wellers for him in a heartbeat. I'm not into making trades AFL premiership 2006 style, at all. But this addresses a big need.
Clarke is a goalkicking, super athletic ruckman. I've seen him absolutely dominate quarters, nick nat style. IMO the best fit player not playing regular 1's in the comp. Would bring x factor into a side which lacks that very thing for mine.
If freo want wellers, then he is the best we can expect from any club in return.

can kick 60 metres, accurately. and flies for enormous marks. great athlete, and suits to play in the same side as Jolly for a year because he's not a dinosaur. Is the only Ruck out there who will play 22 games while we nurse Jolly through and get games into Witts and Cegs.

I never said he was, I just said we were looking at him and are trying to get him fit. He was never a certainty to join us, I don't think he will but there was interest in him and that's a fact.

One of the holes we need to plug is pace. If Wellingham goes that hole suddenly becomes much bigger.
