Where do you guys see Seedsman in the future? My understanding is he has solid skills, a bit of toe. Also a good size.

The reason I say this is would he be the sort of player to take wellinghams spot IF he leaves?
No. They're not similar at all, really.

Seedsman is likely the next Ben Johnson, a running half-back with some evasiveness and penetrating kicking.

I think we'd view Josh Thomas as the likely successor to Wellingham, he's a pacy clearance midfielder.

Q Lynch apparently done
Pies late play for Rivers - think that's a fantastic move. Great 3rd tall, really strengthens the flexibility back there no tarrant is gone. Could be huge
Wellingham to eagles for.....their first pick 17? That's fair in my opinion

Pies trade pick 17 and a player or pick 17,18 for caddy. Seedsman takes wellinghams role. Rivers as a 3rd man down back. Lynch as 3rd tall, back up ruck.
That gets pies to the top of the pecking order again I believe.
Im totally confused by this rivers talk, why didnt we just get taz to play on next year, yes he had a few injuries this year but played out the 2nd half of year ok and was injury free the previous year. Its baffling to me

I don't get it either
I got the feeling the club suggested he retire, Yet we think he is good enough to play on franklin (the competitions hardest forward to play on) yet we dont think he can play on next year?
He is still clearly our best tall defender, and could also do the job on the smalls. We should of offered him a contract for 2013 and rested him during the year against the weaker teams making sure he would be fit for finals

It's got be smoke & shadows under the control of Rand corporation in conjunction with the saucer people.....

It'd make sense if we have offered Brown up for trade. Get Rivers for free, trade Brown and our second rounder for Caddy. Something like that would be a big win for the Pies.
U flipping nuts? Rivers aint that good, brown was first year back after a reco, had a good final series and is 5-6 years younger than rivers.
Why we seem intent on throwing all these players up for trade for unproven or older players?

Giles is getting seriously pumped up. Understand if jolly goes down you will be in strife but some faith in witts and par-timers is needed.

Lynch, Caddy should be priorities. Surely wellingham for pick 17, pies trade that pick + player or their first pick and 17 for caddy - surely that gets that done

Out - 18, wellingham
In - lynch, caddy

Not sure about two first round picks for Caddy. Maybe the first two picks and we get back an early second round pick from GC. You might be right though and the compatition for Caddy might be so fiece that the only way to get him is to offer two first round picks.

So we lose one tall player then pick up two tall players to fit into the side. If we ever thought before that we were top-heavy, with Lynch, Jolly, Dawes, Cloke, Rivers, Reid, Keeffe and Brown the team is going to look even bigger. Surely we are not seriously interested in Rivers? Keeffe with his excellent kicking skill is a certainty to be best 22. Where is the spot for Rivers?

I really want to get this Lynch deal done. I know he isn't the greatest player, but he would add so much more to our forward set up. He is capable of taking a contested grab and the best thing about him
Is that he hits pack and splits them. Would love to see a forward line like this next season
Sidebottom-Cloke-Didak
Fasolo - Lynch - Krakouer

Dawes may also step it up now too because he has no choice but to perform now if this deal goes through

Prefer to use the 2 first round picks (if wellingham goes) , we havent used any since 2009 have we? Suppose to be a bumper draft so i would prefer to get some outside carry with skills.
We have the depth, our long term injury toll this year was ridiculous. We get ball, keeffe, mccaffer, williams back for starters, seedsman and thomas to improve along with the development of ceglar , witts and gault.
Lynch or giles as that 2nd ruck is all we need

Yeah I would also love to know what is Happenig. Though I think Dawes would also be in the F50.

There has not been much talk of Lynch today. Just Bucks saying the Deal is not Done.

Someone has Said on SEN they talked to Lynch Manager who said he want to come to Collingwood but no one seemed to have heard it

Like the look of this forward line too, however, what about McCaffer, with a full pre-season behind him, would he be in our best 22?

I got the opposite feeling. It really seemed to me that it was his decision.

Thing is with McCaffer (who I rate mind you) is that he'd be competing for a spot with Fasolo and unless Caff is going to play out of skin like he did in 2010. Then I can't see him getting a game ahead of him. Sure Fasolo is inconsistent but the kid provides something that our team really lacks and that is X-factor! Perhaps if Didak doesn't stay fit then Caff may get a go but then we have Sinclair and Elliot. Perhaps he might fin it really hard next year. Hope he proves me wrong however. Need year will be interesting though if we can snag 2 or 3 players with availability of Ball, McCaffer and Keefe we look to have some real quality depth. Exciting stuff really.

Agree, looks like we'll have a very strong squad, but how would Premiership players (or those who had a good number of games this year) in their prime (or approaching it) would be prepared to play reserves football in 2013 and possibly 2014? Has Didak said anything about his longer term plans - did I hear/read that he's planning on retiring soon (end of next season)? Is Krak definitely signed on for next season? All in all, I can't wait for next season to come around and surely there won't be so many serious injuries (there, I've put the kiss of death on the medical team)

MaCaffer would easily take either Sinclair or Elliots spot. Offers much more in terms of goal kicking power and his forward pressure is superior too - providing he is fit though.
