I hope that the club is more focused on fixing the ruck problem than they are on picking up Walker. Don't get me wrong, I'd be very happy to see Walker in the black and white but I'd be even happier if we picked up another ruckman eg. Giles.

I also hope that we're doing all we can to keep Wellingham. If he wants to go and it's beyond our control, then I hope we at least get something decent in exchange for him.

Pretty sure you mean Tippett, Walker is the other adelaide FF.

Yes, but in my opinion, this will come back to bite us. We can't ask for loyalty and taking unders to be part of a premiership side and then so easily kick a guy out who was previous to this year, seen as such a good long term player for us.
It's not smart.
Giving a bloke an honest response to his queries and accepting he is free to look at other options if he thinks he needs to is hardly "kicking a guy out".
Bucks and the club are handling this extremely honestly and professionally.
That said if it came down to having a crack at cementing a spot in a Pies side or going to Melbourne, I know I'd be putting in a huge pre-season with the Pies and moving heaven and earth to be part of a great side.

If we lose Wellingham and Dawes and only gain Lynch and draft picks we wont make the top 4 next year. Its simply not an improvement on the 2012 list.

If we remain healthy, we will be entrenched in the top four, regardless of who comes and goes.

Look Dawes is really an average mark and kick.He may as well testv the waters out there cos if he satys and under performs he'll have no trade value.

Yes if he stays he can play his old role as forward now but, keep in mind Jackson Paine and Cory Gault even keefe can vie for his position next year, that's why i reckon Dawes is looking at hias options.

Keefe is comming of an ACL and his best possition is as a back?
Paine has played about 10 games and Cory nil. What happens if the Lynch or Cloke get injured?

We have a problem if Wood has a year on his contract. We probably need his salary cap and no one is going to take him for whatever we negotiated before he was exposed like he was this year.

If Wellingham and Dawes decide to stay then fine. But if they want to look at greener pastures then this is what may transpire.

Wellingham - West Coast are luke warm on him they will not pay him his asking price, freo have gone cold becuase they have signed Pearce. If Wellingham decides to go West Coast then he'll have to accept the same offer collingwood have offered which is around 300k each year for three years.Welligham was asking 450k per year for 4 years. He won't get that at west coast,he may at Melbourne though. Collingwood will definately ask for a player and west coasts first round pick pick 17. and Koby Stevens. Collingwood may have to throw in a 3rd round pick to satisfy west Coast.

So if wellers leaves we get Koby Stevens plus pick 17 on trade pick 17 to GWS for Giles.

Dawes is a different proposition. He is contracted for the next 2 years. Now Bulldogs and Melbourne are very intersted in himso we could quite aesily get say as an example from Melbourne.....Their first round pick plus Stefan MARTIN if collingwood played hard.Remember ball is our court for negotiating cos Dawes is a contracted player so if we don't get a good deal he stays. So from Melbourne or Bulldogs at mimimun we could get their first round picks which we can on trade to
Gold caost for caddy or pick a gun in this years darft which is meant to be brimming with talent

So in the end say we lose both wellingham and Dawes we get Koby Stevens,Giles and Caddy. That's a good deal

People keep saying this, but we're screwed if Cloke gets injured no matter what.

Lets say Cloke does a bad hammy and is out for 6 weeks but will be back for finals.
6 weeks with Lynch and Paine/Gaut as KPF or 6 weeks with Lynch and Dawes?

Winning games in this hypothetical 6 week period could be the difference between a top 4 and missing out on the finals all together.

Wouldn't think there'd be much in it based on these two assumptions to be honest. Paine will hopefully get more fitness over summer. He's already a better contested mark than Dawes but doesn't have his tank.
