It's been far too long since we've had a high young draft pick at the club, i think this year it's non-negotiable that we keep our 1st pick, if not we will severly pay in the future

ill have my pitchfork out if we trade him for pick 38.

Don't worry we won't trade him for 38.

I agree 17 is what we should be aiming at from WC but if we are to concede a little (and as has been mentioned earlier) then it may go something like this.

- WBD give up their 2nd rounder (early 20s) to WC for Koby Stevens and 38.

- WC then pass this early 20s pick on to us for Wellers.

So in essence yes he goes for a 2nd rounder but it is only about 6 spots on from the WC 1st round pick.

I would consider doing this deal.

Trade you Masten? Funny stuff...he is Nisbetts nephew, a pick 3 who is finally coming good, no chance he would be traded, but please continue to discuss and waste each others time...
masten is a dud, one of those players you can get at any selection in the draft these days like jarryd blair who we got off a rookie list and he is a better player than pick 3 masten

People keep mentioning Rendell but I see no evidence that he's started at the club yet. In fact I read somewhere (sorry can't remember where) that he will start next year. The guy hasn't even been officially announced as joining us, let alone working on this draft.

Well in the Tippett did the Article say he is working with us now

you need to watch more footy. masten has been very good this year.
you must just be overating him because he was the number 3 pick in the draft. jarryd blair is a better player which obviously proves draft position means nothing. there are so many examples like x ellis from hawks who has never been the player his draft position suggested he would be and the only reason he is still on an afl list is because of his draft position, mastens not as bad as ellis but is not as good as wellingham! (who also was picked up from a rookie list).

just posting a "rumour". which people may or may not believe
Not sure the rumour thread is the intention for this sort of post.

I know plenty of stuff first hand, mainly 80's players, some 90's from another club.
I wouldn't post that shit here.

We need to keep all our picks IMO, hopefully that includes a first rounder for Dawes and Wellers, i certainly wouldn't be against us offering Melbourne Dawes and pick 18 (if we get it) for pick 4 though, wishfull thinking i know but Neeld does rate Dawes highly obviously.

dont melbourne need pick 4 for viney, doubt they'd give it away anyway

They may or may not need pick 4. If the Suns don't bid pick 2 for him, I think Melbourne can use pick 26(ish) on him. Whatever their 2nd round pick is anyway

I heard today that we could possibly have 3 picks in round 1 of the draft. Picks 13,17 and 18.

13 from Melbourne for Dawes and pick 17 from WC for Wellers and pick 18 our first live pick. If this is the case is a strong position to be in come the draft, considering we have already picked up Lynch.

Who would we consider using these picks on if we kept them?

Maybe a Tim Membrey, Ben Kennedy, Nick Vlastuin, Kristian Jaksch or a Tom Clurey.

Are any of these players walk up first 22? Will they help us win it next year?

having three first round picks in a good draft would be FANTASTIC for our future, however it probably doesn't help us too much with our premiership widnow currently open. I'd say if we got 3 1st round picks, keep 2 and trade 1 off for a mature ager

Sounds reasonable, who do you like?
