for what its worth collingwood monitored caddy very closely in his draft year, was not considered such an early prospect that year, but he had a ripping season and ended up a top 10 choice. Essendon were also very keen, problem for them was they went heppel and couldnt select both obviously.
As for swapping nath brown, i dont know, depends on the confidence we have in keeffe, harltey and gault
Who knows we may even be able to get a sweetener, brown is a proven tall back, 1st round choice himself, maybe if we swapped choices with the suns also, maybe swapped 2nd rounders or something, move way up the order.
All speculation, talls dont grow on trees, and as we know they get injured and you're in the shit

No, I wouldn't pick up Caddy. I was speaking to someone who works for GCSuns and they said at the start of this year he wants to be in the spotlight in Melbourne. He wants the fame that footballers get in Melbourne, he wants to go out to clubs and for everyone to know him. They had no doubt he would leave to seek notoriety. Not something we want players coming to Collingwood for.

Sounds like a knob.

Actually, last night is a good example of why I don't favour Lynch, sorry.
Lynch is probably a good depth player if someone like Dawes or Cloke are out injured, put him on a performance contract and you might get some instant value out of him. Would never play him in a final though and definitely needs a rocket up his arse to keep him motivated. We could throw in Koby Stevens and Mitch Brown to sweeten the deal for Wellingham though :).

No way would we be trading Brown. Just seems like a made up rumor from Barrett.

I think everything is made up from Barret though he works on TradeWeekRadio for the AFL

Can they talk during the season?
I don't know if the can but a Carlton fan on talking Carlton who apparently has close sources to the club said that Carlton met with Travis at Visy Park on Friday. Today on game day on channel 7, Mick said he was down at Carlton on Friday discussing the list with the Carlton people.

So it could have well happened. I think Cloke will end up staying once our season is finished.

As for the Caddy thing, I have not been impressed by Caddy at all up to date and although Brown isn't the best he is part of the 3-4 key backs we half and adds to the depth. We won the flag in 2010 due to good depth, no point of trading him plus with Ball coming back next year we have Beams and Ball who can do the in and under work, I also have close mates who were captained by Caddy at the knights and they said he is the biggest tosser they have ever come across and use to do Richo like tantrums at training.

Agreed,Also Lynch is constantly in and out which would be effecting his confidence of not being in the best 22.Would love to have him in the side so Jolly can have a rest instead of using Dawes.

that would be breaking the rules - suspect its a load of BS.

Maybe Cloke went down to Carlton to tell them he wasn't leaving?
I hope so but you would think his manager would be able to tell them the bad news via a phone call.

Yeah most likely. I decided to look through their forum and see their opinions on Cloke and saw that piece of news. Thought I'd post it in our rumors thread here haha.

Yeah, i can't imagine this being true. Well, not Cloke being at Visy Park the day before a semi.

If he is even stepping foot in their premises whilst our season is still running, he may as well leave now. Ill pack his bags for him.

If it was a representative of Travis, different story.

IIRC Daics, you were recently suggesting that Ben Reid was on the move?

Nope I was not. I was saying Sydney are interested in him which was true, but he ended up signing with us which was is very good. I was worried we would lose him but I never said he is leaving.

Brown for Caddy would be an amazing trade for us... IF we had someone to replace nath brown.

Sadly as it stands at the moment, all we have to cover brown next year is keefe who is good (not great) and comming back from a knee reco so has a high chance of playing a bad season.

Caddy would be a fantastic get though, we need a gun young bulky inside mid to replace ball in 2 years, and i think he will be a super player. If we did this trade, we would have to trade in someone to replace brown... and seeing we are in need of a ruckmen more, i cant see this happening.

We'd have to trade Wellingham Brown and 1 more for Lynch/Minson + Caddy + replacement for nath brown... doubt we could make it happen in one trade week, and too risky.
