Also agree with the others that having specific deals worked out already seems unlikely. If things can be worked out so simply why the need for such a long trade period? The background would've been worked out in some cases, but I still think the meat of the deals are worked out when the clubs get together in that time, especially for teams that are still playing.

You guys are more keen on Martin. If the Pederson trade can be worked out, you'll more than likely get Martin for not much.

If you want more than early 20's for Wellingham, why don't you just pay him the money he deserves?

So you sound like you have all the Inside Word from North Melbourne as you sounds pretty sure what you have Posted.

1) Salary cap is tight as ****
2) How do you know how much he is on atm? And how much he 'deserves'
3) From all reports he wants to stay at Collingwood, otherwise the 2nd option would be back to WA

We could offer him 450k for 3 years. Whether he would bite is up to him, but 33% is a significant pay rise if you've been underpaid your entire career.

If we wanted Martin, why would we go for 'early 20's' pick from Dees in some 3 way deal and then later deal for Martin,presumably with pick in 'early 20's'?

We'd have not got Martin, lost Wellingham in our premiership window and got an early 20s pick for someone who won't be available for a year or two. If Wellingham was traded, you could bet your bottom dollar it's for a ready made.

The Wellingham boat sailed at the end of 2009 for North.

If he was 3-4 years younger and wasn't injury prone then yes, but no chance now.

WTF? Are we actually talking about a bloke that played a whopping 2 senior games this year (with 16 at VFL level) and has just 16 to his name at the age of 25.

rofl, u are aware the AVG afl player salary is around 240k in 2012, and you're saying wellingham is a bit less than double that? Despite pendles thomas swan reid jolly ect getting payed bucketloads.... and the fact is only an average player on our list. He'd be on around 240k... doesn't have much bargaining power and frankly isn't a star
