hello I'm new. I really hope we keep wellingham, he is important as he can be a really effective clearance player. I think pearce should be at the top of our list or salopek as they can both deliver out of the back half.

It's a great point. It's ok to dream about all these changes, but do they actually make us better? Or is that just the hope?
I don't think we need to change much at all. Might be nice to pick up a Salopek on the cheap, but we should use our first 2 draft picks on young talented players. The second ruck roll does need to be filled, but a guy like Pedersen would be fine. Martin would probably cost too much, and provide no where near as much as we hoped. Ask yourself the question, why is he on the outer at Melbourne if he is such a quality player??
At least with Pedersen you can see that Brad Scott's love affair with high draft picks has meant he gave Tarrant and Hansen more than a fair go to cement their place in the team.
But Pedersen should be worth not much more than pick 50ish. That's all I'd be willing to spend.

I'd like to see Goldsack moved into defense next year. It's time he was given a chance to be the rebounding defender he promised he would be about 5 years ago. He will also help with run and carry and kicking from defense.

We have a quality list though, a lot of improvement will come from the returning injured players and the youngsters who got important game time this year.

I too would like Martin. Wouldn't be against having both Martin and Pederson because depth is essential and we don't have it in our ruck and forward stocks...but probably won't have enough list spots for both.

Pederson has had some good games. Didn't he kick 5 goals once? He also plays very well in VFL.

Martin is more the height we would want...either or for me and I'm happy.

whats all this love for pederson? an undersized player who cant establish himself at NM, Martin would be the better option [at least he has the size] but i would prefer to find a pacy midfielder and look to our own in Ceglar, Gault and Witts to provide the second ruck option.

Jacobs was dropped after Round 15. Played every game until then.

Not a lot of love for him on the Port board. Seems like he didn't show a great deal this year.

He did have surgery on both ankles in the pre season though. Plus the glandular fever in his first year. If we could snag him cheap he might flourish in a stronger team.

Ben Jacobs from what I've seen is pretty vanilla. Decision making is slow for mine and his field kicking is hit and miss.

As for Ricky Petterd, I would certainly be interested. We another medium type half forward flanker who is dangerous around goals. He would flourish in our system.
