this would be my ideal trade week.

Collingwood trade Sharrod Wellingham and their 4th round pick to Melbourne for their 2nd round pick and Stefan Martin.
(Their 2nd round pick, is in the early 20's)

Collingwood then trade their first round draft pick(pick 16?) for Josh Caddy.

This immediately adresses two key issues, young talent coming through, and 2nd ruck role. Caddy is going to be a star, and would be a natural successor to Luke Ball as Caddy from all reports is an in and under specialist.

This scenario would still leave collingwood with two decent picks in the draft at pick 23 and pick 32. Hine will deliver.

Our 1st pick is 18, that's not enough for Caddy from my reading of things.

He is already back in WA at the moment visiting his Dad who i bought my house off. His dad owns his own real estate agency near me and i speak to him quite often. He did say to me that Sharrod was looking at buying a house in WA as an "investment". You can take that any way you want it, i took it as he is looking for an investment, but the fact that he doesn't actually have his own house in Vic and lives with Buddy does sound a bit suss to me but hey.

He has a high disposable income, his dad is a real estate agent, it is not a long bow to draw that his dad has probably kept an eye out for good property for his son to invest in and if he does go back to Perth when he retires he will have some place to live or a good income producing asset while in the process lowering his taxable income while he is playing. I don't think it would be that uncommon for players playing interstate.

Wellingham is in WA to discuss his future with his manager. His manager says there are 4-6 Victorian teams that are interested in Wellingham. It's in the Herald Sun.

So you've seen him play have you??
For me Caddy is nothing special at all. He hasn't proven anything yet and all the hype is solely to do with the fact he was drafted so high. He wouldn't fill a role in our team at the moment and would be a really silly option, imo.

Stefan Martin might be a good pick up, but I don't think we want to give up Wellingham for him. I would however, give up Wellingham for Petterd and Martin. Ricky Petterd has star quality, it just hasn't happened for him yet, but it will.

Guys im sure if wellingham wants out, he will return home to WA, why not a three way trade
Collingwood get: warnock and 2 second rounder
Carlton:koby stevens
Eagles: wellingham
all these players have bee linked to each team

do u think he will ask to a trade to WA
If he does ask for a trade i'm not convinced that he will ask to be traded back to WA. According to his old man he loves the lifestyle in Vic. The majority of his mates live over there, including guys he went to school with in Perth that have made the move over to Melbourne. So if he does ask for a trade i think he will be staying in Victoria which will work in to Collingwoods favour then because he can't just nominate a team in WA, more teams in Vic to crank up his asking price

How did we end up with Cameron Wood MKII for an inside/outside premiership midfielder with genuine speed and hardness? o_O

And right now it's been reported there isn't much interest for him in WA but the Demons have a hard on for him so I wouldn't assume go home factor here
yep, was interested in warnock a few years back but that time has well and truly passed. NO WAY!!!

Warnock is not even one dimensional - he is 1/2 (half) dimensional. We need a Roughhead/leigh brown type that can releive Jolly and Witts next year.

Can we do Dawes and Wellingham for Roughhead and Tom Murphy (who'll be angry at being left out of the side) - i think i am dreaming a bit but it doesnt hurt

i just think we should invest in our youth, Ceglar should definately of had a run in the latter part of the year as that back up ruck who can go forward.
Dont need to make wholesale changes in my opinion, need to find a gun kick coming out of the backline and another speedster in the midfield

Strong reports here that Crows are into Danyle Pearce so that may not be a option.

If Caddy is available and wants to come here, we need to get him. Was my fave player coming out of that draft/year. Always thought he was the best young mid for Gold Coast in that original squad and nothing has changed IMO. Will be a gun if he can stay fit

If we got caddy and lost wellers would caddy start in our best 22 rd 1 next season? would we have any midfield spots left for him??

If we got Caddy he would be in our side from RD 1 easily

because i think we already have ball, beams, blair that kinda play that role i think we need a outside runner someone similar to lewis jetta would be perfect.
but i would still be happy if we got caddy.

has he got any pace or a good kick on him or is he like luke ball inside mid good at getting hard ball gets?
He's an inside midfielder, can kick goals, and is a good kick, though his decision making hasn't always been the strongest to this stage. Technically a very sound kick though, and it's understandable to lack a bit of composure in the first couple of years playing in a very inexperienced lineup.

Are sidebottom and brown signed yet?
Rounds and 1st round to GC for caddy?
Maccafer to Melb for Petterd and pick?
Wellingham to Carl for casboult and 2nd-3rd round pick?

I think you're dreaming more than a bit.
