I understand your logic in the first bit of the post, but luke ball will be 29 next season, returning from an ACL. He would have probably 1-2 good seasons in him, then what?(too much expectation is being placed on ball next season) who do we have to play as that in and under midfielder? Say what you want about beams and pendlebury, they are class but there was no coincidence that Hawthorn and Sydney bullied us in the middle with their better inside players.

He would actually be a viable cheap option to play the Leroy Brown role we really missed in 2012. That would allow Dawes to actually stay deep inside 50 where he is at his best.

The fact that he is unrestricted and will cost nothing in terms of a trade would be appealing.

Martin and Pedersen are contracted so may be difficult to shift.

Lynch is a free agent- would cost us nothing to secure him in terms of trade.

He is also at least a proven goal kicker.

absolutely we would, im sure we would prefer pederson or martin but now cos of cloke they would take the cheaper route. In case you havent noticed we dont have a backup ruck to help jolly and q-stick has aggression which is exactly what we need.
