Just dump him and leave him there who cares if he kicks up a stink thats melbourne's problem then, not our's

Wouldn't the player be able to walk into the draft in that outcome?
Melbourne wouldn't be silly enough to trade to us without Wellingham's approval.

Have any of you been on Twitter or Nick's? Michaelangelo Rucci is stating that he wants to return to Victoria, and play for Collingwood with his brother Ben.

and He said Tippet wanted to play for Collingwood:thumbsdown:

If Sharrod holds up the deal, then just do a Dawes for 13 swap.

Let Sharrod go into the PSD if WC wont give us 17, and let him get to Port.

No reason we can't get pick 4 for them both, then Melbourne on trade Wellingham to West Coast for soemthing else.

Stevens and Pick 17.

Nah, if Melbourne want Wellingham, that's where he stays.

Melbourne would end up in that scenario having given away pick 4 for pick 17 and Dawes

Don't think you can ontrade a player either can you?

Honestly we can try and get Wellingham to WCE if we can involve another team and still get a player from theree with Dawes to Melb for those picks. If it can be done then tell Sharrod that its either Melb or he goes into the preseason draft.
We got screwed over last time with Nick Stevens, we should do it as well. Its harsh but its about the club

I don't think Melbourne either are in a position to not go after who they want and be left as wall-flowers.

If Dees gave us pick 4 for Dawes and 18, Melbourne could keep 13 and use our 18 on Wellingham. Sounds ordinary when you say 4 for Dawes and 18 for Melbourne, but as a suite it really is out pick 4, in Wellers and Dawes and a retain of pick 13. So 3, Dawes, Wellers, pick 13 and Viney.

We would lose pick 18, Dawes and Wellingham, but if it netted you a Luke Hodge / Franklin type, you might go for it.

But if you stated to Sharrod you could end at Melbourne or Port, whether you like it or not, he might be more accepting of a better Melbourne trade, such as Wellingham and Dawes for pick 4. We'd then have 4 and 18.

Stevens and Pick 17.

If Melbourne trade for Sharrod, particurlarly for their 3rd or 4th pick, they wont be shipping him off.

No chance we get Sam Reid, why would the Swans give up Reid to sign Tippett makes no sense to me at this time but I could see Sam with his brother sometime in the future I would much prefer him to Tippett who I do not want at the club.

Why would Wellingham want to move to another Melbourne based team? It is my understanding that he wants to go home, else he would be resigning with Collingwood. Has he said anything the contrary? I don't see one good reason why he would leave if faced with being forced to stay in Melbourne.

That's Wellingham's perspective on things, but I'm not really concerned with his wishes but what we can extract.

If WC become bull-headed over pick 17, he wont go there and all of a sudden a Melbourne based club is in the offing. We signed Goldsack today and we're yet to re-sign Krakouer. It's conceivable the 3 year 300k offer we had on the table might diminish to 250k if Krakouer re-signs.

Then Wellers has to decide if he wants to stay at Collingwood or go to Melbourne on 450k. That kind of money for a lower paid player certainly gets you a fair way down that yellow-brick road.

What could happen is something along the lines of Collingwood saying we want him via Melbourne but then Melb on trading him so that it looked like Collingwood sending both players to Melbourne for #4 and then Melbourne on trade Wellingham for Stevens and #18.;

Collingwood
Gain: # 4
Lose: Dawes & Wellingham

Melbourne
Gain: Dawes & 18
Lose: # 4

WCE
Gain: Wellingham
Lose: 18.

Might have to be trued up with a fringe player and or few later picks (by Collingwood) or trading some selections etc but that could be something that works for everyone. I reckon K.Stevens might be used in all that.
