Rodney Eade mentioned that his weight isn't quite where they'd like it to be in his List Review, but I can't find the article anymore. Anyone have it?
Still, if you have the resources like Collingwood players do, it is fairly easy to put on 8-10kg in a preseason. Think Reid pre 2010 when all he did was eat and do weights.

I have kept track of the heights/weights of players and they haven't changed since the start of 2011. He would be close to 100kg now - he's a big boy.
Just on this note too - weight doesn't = strength.
Oh ok thanks, I was relying on google and cfc website

But my point is, Ceglar would have to go against 110-115 kg ruckman in the AFL if he is to be our back up ruckman, he would be disadvantaged with the weight he has now

Yeh you aren't wrong. He is 204 cm and a bit of weight would help him against the guys like Mumford, Goldstein, Sandilands etc. Not sure what is going on with Wood though. 107kg? I don't think so... (Sort of backs up my point about the lack of proper info on the CFC website)

Most big ruckmen are between 105-110 Kg (apart from Sandilands who is about 125 Kg). At 100Kg with some muscle behind him he should be ok. For example Dean Cox 106 Kg, Mumford 108 Kg, Sam Jacobs 105 Kg, Maric 102 Kg, Hille 108 Kg, BellChambers 106 Kg and Minson 106 Kg are some of the bigger ruckmen.

Ceglar has been at the pies for 2 seasons and he is still 90kg ;\

Witts is 24 kilos heavier lol

Where did you get this info from? I hope it's not the clubs website which hasn't been updated since February 2011....

Edit: Considering number10 has already cleared it up I guess all I can do is confirm that they definitely haven't been updated.

That's if we actually believe the weights, Mumford 108kg?
Where are they weighing him, on friggin Mercury?

It's hard not to get distracted when the actual trade news and rumours move at such a slow rate. Probably good to be a bit tolerant in these anxious times! The alternative I guess is to just make stuff up. Like, oh, I just heard Melbourne have done a complete 360 on their whole attitude to this trade and have decided to give us pick 4, 20, Clarke and Trengove for Dawes. I understand the need to talk about work. Every now and then mine intrudes on football and Collingwood (as tiresome as that can be).

I agree. Talking shit is talking shit IMO.

Not a rumour as such, but David Rodan has been delisted by Port and I would seriously think he could bring some speed to our midfield and probably would come cheap. Am I way off the mark on this?

Would definately put pressure on Blair's spot, has that X factor and speed that we need, but isn't very accountable.. Which we already have a problem with..

One year contract on little coin would be probably worth the risk!
Would be a great burst player as a sub..

Blair would stay in the squad over Fasolo every day of the week.

Rodan would probably take Blair's current inside mid/fwd role, but it would be pushing Sinkers out of the side as Blair would just take his small defensive forward role.

Wouldn't affect Fasolo much, since he works more on the outside when he's in the midfield rotation (like Sidebottom). Having Rodan on the outside would be a bit of a waste since his real strength is his evasiveness in congestion and burst work from stoppages. He's actually not that quick out in open space IMO.

Really?
Fasolo was our equal 2nd goal kicker in his second year with 28 goals..

Expecting 35 + goals from him next year, Fasolo over Blair for mine..

while i admire blair for the style of play he brings when in form, fasolo has so much more upside.

i dont think i am alone in thinking we are about to see something special from fasolo, and soon.

fasolo is a much better player than blair and has alot more strings to his bow than blair. fasolo will a big step this season i reckon, will be very important, many people link him to paul chapman.

I don't reckon he's anywhere near as good at getting the hard ball as Blair or Chapman. Different type of player IMO.

I have to also ask why we would be wanting a player who was delisted from one of the worst sides in the comp. It's not like Port have a multitude of stars to choose from, thereby forcing out a quality player who had the misfortune of playing for a top team.

i think he would be if he was given the opportunity to play in midfield like blair

Greg Broughton has been put up for trade by Freo, anyone keen? He is a HF but I am not sure about his disposal, maybe others who have seen him more can comment on that.

You can only base it on what you have seen. Blair plays well most weeks and is consistant. Fasolo is flashy in patches but has a long way to go. I dont think Fasolo is going to live up to the expected hype. Blair is that footballer i love, in and under and giving his all.

first i have heard of this, but i rate him highly. He isn't a half forward(i know he played there a bit this year), he is a defender, and a pretty good one at that.
He made a name for him self in 2010 and 2011 for playing on and beating stevie J a few times, and that is the type of player ala betts, johnson, rioli etc who have gotten hold of us deep forward. Broughton can play on those guys and do it well.

His disposal isn't that bad, i had him in my dream team in 2011, so i watched him intensely, he finds a bit of the footy down back, but alot of it goes sideways, but he is a good kick. I would trade 39 for him in a heart beat.
