Rumour on extreme black and white........growing legs,not sure how true it is.

Collingwood's picks 17 and 18 to Adelaide

Sydney get Tippett

Collingwood get Sam Reid.............Whispers that Reid was seen at Lexus centre.

This could all be crap but i am hearing that Hine doesn't rate this draft that high after the the first 10-15 picks anything after that is hit and miss.

Sam Reid,Travis Cloke, Quientin Lynch forward line i like.

Collingwood make it happen!

As wonderful as that sounds Collingwood are no chance of being able to fit him into the cap unless there is some massive readjustment. Walsh said as much last week on SEN that they just dont have any room left.

Not sure the Swans would give up Reid for Tippett anyway unless they thought Reid wanted to go home or had told them that. He is contracted for 5 years so i dont see it.

Reids salary is what roughly 500k per year? He signed a 5 year deal with Sydney.

If that rumouir was true would we carry his contract or would sydney pay some of it?

I wouldn't mind this and it is probably as good as Adelaide can get now but why would Sydney swap Reid for Tippett, pay him around $1m p.a. and still be 1 tall forward short?

Also if Hine doesn't rate the draft then why the hell did we trade into it?

Just sounds like BS to me.

Not sure we have traded into the draft as much as people suggest. Wellingham WANTED to go. Got a high-ish pick probably based on no player being offered that was rated. Dawes wanted out when Lynch came and/or when Bucks worded him up. We got a high-ish pick again as the best option for the trade. That's not really trading into the draft. That's the result of starting 18 players wanting out.

I say BS to the Reid rumour. No way would Reid be traded to us and can't see why Tippett would be preferred by Sydney to Tippett. Not going to happen.

I'd like us to keep the picks myself. This is the first time in 5 years we've been so heavily involved in the first round, it's a great opportunity to let Hine work his magic and pick us up some gems. I don't even know why Reid would want to leave Sydney, he's a premiership player now, pretty hard to leave a club after you've just won a flag with them.

St Kilda seem to be getting increasingly desperate for a back up ruckman. Essentially behind McEvoy they have Jason Blake, which makes us seem full of ruck riches. I would prefer to keep Wood if I could and I think we should (check those rhymes out btches).

However given the lack of love for him and with Witts & co coming through (so not ready), does anyone think a trade of Wood, pick 21 & 48 to St Kilda for an upgrade to pick 13 & pick 37 would be worth a shot? I think pick 13 will net a very good player, 48 we may not even use so we could even just give it away. The Saints get a ruckman with a simple draft pick downgrade which is a win for them as they are currently shopping all their picks around.

We can then possibly rookie someone like Orren Stephenson as backup for Jolly and he is the premier VFL ruckman (4 flags in 5 years!).

ugh, just as long as its not a trade for yet another ruckman. Seriously how many great and rare draft picks have we already blown on getting the 4 we have

pick 14 for Wood
picks 14 and 46 for Jolly
pick 25 for Ceglar (and Krakouer)

Besides even if we do get rid of Wood we’ll still have three ruckmen in Witts and Ceglar who need to be tried at some point in near the future, otherwise what’s the point of retaining them for a time when we’ll be out of our premiership window. As others have said, 3 should be plenty and we would should just grab an experienced first/back up ruckman through free agency at the end of next year to cover for Jolly leaving, however we wont know if we need a first or just a backup ruckman unless we give Witts and Ceglar a try at stages next year.

If we go for another ruckman that’s nearly 10% of our playing list of a possible 44 players to cover just the ONE position on the ground out of 22…. (and that’s assuming Wood will be delisted and not including Quinten Lynch as a backup possibility either)

There is some stuff brewing down at Westpac. We traded into the draft so we could then trade the picks. Melbourne's need and want for Dawes was greater than any other club, hence they paid overs. As did the Weagles for Wellers. This "Third" club involved in the Tippett deal is Collingwood. Make no mistake.

I think the problem sydney face is that yes they can pay Tippett,but they are finding it hard to satisfy Adelaide,
If we stepped in offered picks 17 and 18 its about as good as it would get for Sydney,but we will require strong compensation for those two picks.Sam Reid is a fair trade since we are giving up 2 high picks.
Plus Sam would love to play for the biggest club in the land plus play with his brother a match made in heaven.I am sure if sam reid was put on the tabkle Collingwood would be able to settle payments we would delist a couple of peripheral players.

Its all connjecture sure but see what happens maybe nothing.but heres hoping.

Not sure about Hickey for pick 21.
However wood plus our pick 48 to Bitchmond for there pick 34 ans whatever else i would do.

I keep saying for a ruckman to take over from Jolly we need an athletic bullocking type,a young jolly if you like .Who out there is like that,we don't need a gangling skinny ruckman like wood or Hickey
