Word on the street is that Jem Howe is to be drafted by Melbourne.

he is not on the list of nominees for the draft on thursday on afl website!!,but did have a meeting with dean baiely on sunday and the week before flew to melb to train with colingwood

nah Murphy's contact to go to North Hobart is pretty much sighned up. no way would Murphy go to Clarence

Funny i just heard he has accepted a massive offer from NTFA Club Bracknell.
I hope he does stay in the TSL. which ever club it is. Is a great player to watch and will blow his chances of getting an AFL spot as i think he could is he goes to an NTFA club

Romour has it that a former Cambridge FC reserves player who once kicked 8 goals in a game is strapping up for Glenorchy reserves in the SFL.

Looks like I might get a game myself.

Devonport appear in a world of trouble..

Brad and Chris McDonald have both gone back to Penguin..

McCrossen and Viney to NTFL clubs as well.. could see a couple following them..

Bourne walking, Max cant commit due to health, Super rejected the offer.. Is late in the game to be searching for a coach..

They'll want to appoint someone with a little bit of pull as well or they won't have anyone left! Super was never going to do it, but they must of thought he'd bring some quality from Ulvie and retain those already there.

Rumour has it they even have had talks with Wuffy "the man of steel" Smith for the coaching job. Wuffy would be a great choice, he coached the Burnie Shocker Dockers under 17's to runners up in the 2009 granny....

In Today’s advocate Martin Agatyn reckons its Paul Atkins as the hot favourite for the Devonport Job...But so far he’s been 0/2 on getting a scope! :thumbsd:

has glenorchy announced a coach yet
TSL - Byron Howard Assistant to him is Jonathon Bowring, apparently Bowring knocked back a chance to coach in the SFL, to be an assistant to Howard.

Also have Robbie Devine there as a specialist coach, from what the Glenorchy newsletter said. Glenorchy announced their SFL Colts coach though, Shaun Kennedy will be coaching them in 2011. Matthew Shaw was re-appointed as TSL Colts coach.

Hobart have lost Sam Hall back to New Norfolk, Aaron Hall has gone to Queensland, Blair Kean has gone to WA - he has some specialist job lined up over there - and obviously Jeremy Howe got drafted to Melbourne.

No Offence mate, but Wuffy is a w***er! Good footballer but you could no way in hell class him a leader of men. He is all about himself and would have to be one of the most selfish footballers to play the game. Ulverstone could not get rid of him quick enough, Burnie would never have him back, Smthton refuse to say he was originally a saint and for Devonport to consider him as a Senior coach is absolutely ridiculous!!

Devonport would be better off appointing Don Cooper over Wuffy. Like I said, top footballer but would be a poor leader of men as he only knows one way and that is the Wuffy way:thumbsd:

Would they have him back for the reunions that he contributed so much towards Planty???? Don't think Smithton want him back as he agreed to go back there only to have Burnie grovel and offer him everything to stay, which he did! Shame on wuffy.

Sam Hall quite a loss, looked a good player, other Hall good early but awful in 2nd half of season from what I saw and heard, talented but a bit loose defensivley but a loss no doubt as is Kean, B and F winner there and inj stricken last season. I did hear that they were getting 3 or 4 back from QLD including Briggs and Stride, apparently Briggs in super form in QLD and very fit and have brought a couple with them also rumours of a couple of others from various leagues and some bloke from another TSL club. Will get Horton back fit and Willing going pretty well at training from my sources, if they lose Owen and Burbury in rookie draft they may be in a bit of strife however!

Wuffy was a top footballer and has got the rewards to prove it. But that is all he was - a top footballer. When you start talking about Wuffy being a coach that is when that scenario becomes a little hard to swallow! Devonport would be mad to even consider it as he is a poor team man and would not gain the respect of grown men. The poor U/17 boys never had a choice but to listen to him, but I can't see Heazlewood and Co taking much notice of him.
Burnie would allow him back to reunions I dare say, but Wuffy being Wuffy would think he is to big for Burnie now - he does call him self Super Man don't forget!!

So you listened to him when he coached Burnie u/17's, from all reports the young fella's loved and played for him, and the parents think he did a good job with them as well. Sounds like something personal between you and him. Your right though, it's time for Heazlewood i think to step up! But will he???? Why don't you stick your hand up as you seem to know what it takes??????

Apparently Briggs will be in Melbourne next year. Rumour is he will join forces with Beck and McManus who play with Melbourne Grammar over there. Hobart would be a very talented team if they could stop their talented 21-24 year olds continually moving interstate...

Wuffy would be the last bloke i would want to play under, but I havent played under him, Im just speaking for the zero tollerance and respect he used to show anyone that didnt play in the seniors at burnie when i played there. Although people can improve and mature I just know he had a lot of work to do. I think he should just stick to playing as we all know he is a great player

Laycock would have to be the luckiest bloke going round. Played 50 odd games in 9 years at Essendon and now a chance to go to another club? Unreal.

Good luck to him though.

Reading the Age newspaper this morning, article saying Sheedy wants Laycock at Western Sydney, WS may draft him! Would he go? That would put a dent in Burnie for 2011 season if he does.

Now i am starting to see why Essendon got rid of SheedY. What a waste of a pick.

The question would be why wouldn't he go? I mean no disrespect for the TSL here, but if I was given a chance to start over at a new club, and under Kevin Sheedy, being a foundation member of the GWS side in the AFL I'd certainly take it.

I guess the only thing that would stop Laycock is if he wants to honour his TSL Contract for 2011, since GWS won't play in the AFL until 2012, maybe GWS could allow him to play in the TSL for the next year. But what compensation would the Dockers get if he's drafted after signing a contract? People have had Ben Brown in their phantom drafts going to Collingwood, and another had him as a rookie pick, so Glenorchy might be in the same boat, but the dent would be lesser to us then the Dockers.

Burnie are looking at some other "big names" according to The Adovocate, they also have had Jack Templeton there training.

Signed both Nick McKenna and Rohan Baldock according to http://www.theadvocate.com.au/news/...e-dockers-chasing-more-big-names/2004518.aspx

Is there any truth that Devonport Magpie Vin Ponsonby will join Ex team mate Trent 'Frog' McCrossen at Ulverstone in the N.T.F.L? I have heard from sources that Vin has been training and has enjoyed his time back in the nest so far. Another huge lost for the Northern Magpies.

Might as well just pull the pin on Devonport now...

Tambo, you are spot on! Wuffy use to make me laugh in that he would only acknowledge the senior listed players and had little time for the reserve listed players. It will be interesting to see what happens once his football playing days are over, because the people that know Wuffy would all testify that he is not an intelligent man and if it was not for his footy ability he would still be employed by Julia Gillard. I still recall standing next to Wuffy at training one day and looking through his ears and seeing Jack Wells out the other side, poor Wuffy had nothing between the ears but broad day light:eek:

Nick Probert must have been a super coach at Burnie in being able to keep it together. All you blokes seem to do up there is knife one another. It's getting very tiring. Football news not all these personal spats is what this fourm is all about.
