I just hope Hobart can catch the big fishes they are chasing and get the same dispensation that Glenorchy and Burnie have been given because if the big clubs keep getting bigger the small will just fade away and the comp will be a rubbish comp?
Is Hobart actually chasing someone or is that a hypothetical?
It's a bit of a concern isn't it, the gap between the haves and have not's is starting to look eerily similar to 1995-2000 all over again.

You might be able to confirm, on top of the players mentioned previously that we've lost from this season, I was told today that we've also lost Owen, Burbury and Cleary. Big losses.
Was also mentioned that it will be a struggle to even field two sides next season, not sure if this is the usual pre-Christmas thing where numbers are a bit slack early on or we are genuinely struggling.
Hope it's the former.

Avge 28-30 every session not including the kids so pretty much the same as last season, there are actually around 60 whom have trained and on the books so fielding 2 teams not an issue plus about 6-8 Kingborough kids coming up and a few from Hutchins as well after christmas I am told, Not sure about the 3 mentioned, Cleary has trained, every year we hear he is going to Hutchins but he never does, just his brother is down there telling people he is going there. The other 2 may get Rookied or maybe not. Wouldn't believe too many rumours, go along to training and have a look at what they are doing, looks organised and professional. The biggest thing I see is too many hangers on who just stand and watch, they don't appear to interested in putting on a trackie and getting their hands dirty;)

Has anybody seen the 2011 Roster yet or know when it will be released ? I wonder if Wade & Co will be keen to play Queensland again next year ? I think the sooner they revert to a true home and away roster the better as the current roster style seems to give some clubs an armchair ride in regards to travelling. I know we are locked in to the current regional system at the moment but it will be interesting to see if AFL Tas attempt to correct some of the obvious anomolies from the first two years.

The system with less travel by playing more games in your own conference works well in my opinion - No one wants to travel north or south to watch their local team play away from home.

The final 6 ensures that 95% of the time 3 teams from each conference will play finals giving all teams the opportunity to win the flag.

Sounds pretty good, thanks for the update! :)
I'm a shift worker so I don't get a chance to attend many functions or attend training or anything unfortunately.
So how many different coaches have they got up there this year? I think they had about 38 coaches last year, it was a wonder they never had a coach's coach - I can just picture him standing behind Brer up in that shitty looking box on top of the changerooms going "Yes, that's it Brer! But I think you could perhaps be a little more positive in your approach there!" "No, it wasn't the umpire's fault Brer!" "Bad move Brer!"
Brer would've punched him all the way to the Brooker Highway! :D
I hear the AGM's on pretty soon, expected to be somewhat 'spicy' from what I've heard, although (1996 and 2004 apart) it'll probably be the usual thing, expected to be fiery and nothing will get said and the same old things'll keep moseying on...

I agree with this. the only problem is the travel factor for Clarence was NON existent. the Roos didnt once go to the North West coast in 2010. twice play laun in laun and then south launnie. how is that fair?

every southern club should have at least one trip to the NW. in two seasons Clarence has played at West Park, while other clubs have (Glen, NH) been to both Burnie and Devonport.

Boo hoo mate! One would think that Launceston at Windsor would be tougher than the NW games! Burnie were weak, however, Devonport showed a bit under lights.

I know the current regional style roster has its good points but the only fair way to run this comp is a full home and away roster. That way no club can get favorouble treatment in the draw as has happened so far. CB you seem to be alluding to the outcome that that Clarence shouldnt have to travel to play away games against sides that arent doing so well, is that what you meant ? If Burnie and Devonport are struggling year in year out does that mean no trips to the coast for Clarence. I think if Burnie play Clarence at West Park next year it will draw a bumper crowd, so I for one hope they do play up here. Another thing too, if Devonport get kicked out will a regional roster work, the Northern sides would have to play each other at least 4 times plus the southern teams once and I think that would be ridiculous.

I would rather travel to the coast and play the inbreeders then play a powerful Launceston side twice at Windsor park. Pretty sure thats where we only lost our one game for the year.

Every southern team should have to go to the coast at least once. North Hobart travelled to both Devonport and Burnie.

Nth need to win more games than Dev to play a home final, particularly in the first week. Simple.

Don't think I mentioned anything about it being unfair or Devonport not earning the right to host the game there.

It was 3rd week in Finals too... Not the first week. Simple

My apologies Whispering Death. Obviously not that simple!

I must ask, why did you bring this point up then? I made the inference that you felt it was unfair.

You'd think if it was late in the finals series that they'd have to play a neutral venue when the teams are so far apart geographically.

Give us a run down of Nth Hobart's draw for the finals mate. I could understand if they had to play Dev at Dev in an elimination final... hmm

Apology Accepted CB.

No reason at all why I mentioned it. Just passing on my wealth of knowledge to everyone.

North's finals? I believe they beat North Launie and then Glenorchy.

Rumour has it a former devil & glenorchy premiership player has accepted a playing assistant coaching job down the south arm highway. Great news for the baby bombers if true!

With him and Kane waller, things are on the up down there.

Huge loss for North if this is true, Crawford is a terrific footballer who should be playing at TSL level.
Also heard a whisper Zane Murphy may be heading to VFL side Cogburg.

Saw this in the Glenorchy FC newsletter
