Not at all, they said when Dutts retired they would struggle, budgee was just the cherry on top and played the hit up forward role perfectly as he did in the finals last year when needed, the ball movement and delivery to the forwards has been A1 this year and that shouldn't change at all, will just be someone else on the end of it. Still budgee provides a presence and an amount of respect from oppostion that his replacement might not have or get straight away.

A sad & sudden end to a pretty good career. I must say though, how come he was allowed to play so soon after major neck surgery? It could have crippled him. I hope his injury settles down & doesn't give him any permanent problems. It must have scared his parents & family. I know I got a bit of a shock when I heard. Anyway we can only wish him the best.

Contrary to the reports. I think our Coach has been hung out to dry by this drink driving charge. The fact it's been slashed all over the media is absolutely ridiculous. he was up front with the club and players immediately and given the circumstances did a super job on saturday when we were under the pump. I think it's time for people to lay off him as he is under enormous pressure and still really disappointed he can't play due to his injury.

Perhaps you should email the Mercury with your concerns over this. The only stuff on BF was an outpouring of sympathy when he was forced to give the game away. I think BF has been very considerate of him. I haven't seen anything detrimental to him on this or any other charges. I agree with Madmug, I find it bizzarre that anyone would defend such an action and his excuse was P###Weak, found out it was a surprise wedding and had a few more drinks?? He as coach/ex devil/state player would have had the standard AFL drugs and alcohol education drummed into him over the years. Footy culture and pop culture regarding drinking is a huge issue and Budgie has stuffed up big time. Yes he deserves a 2nd chance but he is open season as far as I'm concerned, he'll take positive publicity when playing and coaching well, so expect to be under the pump when this kind of thing happens. 300m could have been the longest drive of his life had he had an crash, hit someone etc. How about this guys, if you drive do not drink, pretty easy Makes me wonder just how much this happens in the broader communityand people get away with it

This bloke is in the public eye in a major way. He is decorated throughout the state footy wise. He should have known better. But chose to make one of the biggest mistakes of his life. He has let a shit load of people down, most of all his club. No one on here has bagged him. The Mercury went with a big story and printed the facts.

I may learn to hold a grudge against childish clowns who start a stupid line on a thread & then try to change it to something else when they have obviously made a fool of themselves.
