I love half decade old memes that still appear on the internet every single day despite being way past it.

Don't you agree with me, Heath Ledger playing The Joker?

All of them? Every meme is nearly immediately run into the ground. Memes are just in jokes for people who aren't friends, or don't have any. I'm glad the trend of things like "afl memes" appears to have died off.

Those weren't memes.

A meme is a social phenomenon. What are often called 'memes' are, in actual fact, spin-offs of spin-offs of a particular meme - Advice Dog.

What I hate are meme-snobs - oh, you're not using that meme correctly, that one can only be used in the sociopolitical context of neo-Marxism in contrast with the inhumanity of the post-feminist enhancement of the accomplishments of Newton. N00b.

Just go browse Reddit if you want to see memes get run into the ground, dug up, resuscitated and run into the ground again. Such a shit site.

When a meme eventually makes it to Facebook, that's when its humour dies.
