I'm sure Tom could do it but it's a no from me. He is too closely associated with Koch, Ken and the mediocrity crew. I only want people who have achieved the highest success in their field and are driven. I don't want another Kochie "yes" men on the board, there are too many as it is.

I don't know if Jonas was any good at the off field captaincy bit, but on field he was the absolute worst Port Adelaide captain I can recall in my many years of supporting the club.

Captains are supposed to lead by example, but a player with his lack of ability couldn't be compared to Fos Williams, Geoff Motley, John Cahill or Brian Cunningham in any way, and I'm not comfortable even mentioning his name in the same sentence as Russell Ebert!

Jonas was an absolute scrubber in comparison to all of the above and his (apparent) endorsement by kokhead is just another reason to give him a big :thumbsdown:

Tom Jonas is the "just another ex footballer" member elected board position that Koch and Richo have complained about.
It's funny how they'll use that popularity when it suits their needs.

I'm keen to see who else has nominated because we surely have more options than a recent ex captain who has done nothing other than the low level speaker circuit for the past few years. As Ford mentioned, Jonas is no slouch, but he isn't really someone who has shown exceptional strategic thinking or successful business clout. (no, setting up a small wine business with your football earnings doesn't count)

Jonas is alright, he isn't dumb atleast. However based on his "living his best life" skii posting - that alone should disqualify him from ever taking a position on our board. He ain't it.

Member elected positions shouldn't be for ex-footballers, because they will always win. Have someone who can contribute but is also representative of the members.

There are plenty of board members who have been there a long time that he could replace.

I'd be ok with TJ. Yes he couldn't kick and went a year too long, but I felt he always had a crack at least as a player.

Fortunately he's not nominating for the best 22.

Contrary to completely unfounded posts on here, he is also a very smart man.

I feel for our guys in the media, it seems like they were always told to defend Hinkley and be positive no matter what.

Hopefully then someone decent runs against him because his “living his best life” attitude doesn’t appeal to me.

ESSENDON is on the hunt for a new Chief Executive Officer after Craig Vozzo stepped down for personal reasons.

Vozzo has been in charge for the past three seasons and has made the decision to resign to be closer to his family in South Australia.

He might be worth a look.

Apparently all candidates need to be vetted by Kochie and the AFL before they can nominate for the member election.
