Yep i agree.

We(the club) has done nothing to help this kid at all. The poor bastard hasnt played a senior game yet the club has built him up into a future star. He is going to be under enormous pressure to live up to the hype the club has created and that isnt fair on the kid. I hope he makes it and fulfills the prophecy of the chosen one but we arent making it easy for him.

How about NLM nominating himself to stay on the rookie list to keep the position open?

The club talking him up will only make him realise how important it is that he makes an impact on the side soonish...otherwise he's GAWWWN!

He is talking more of the publicity the club has given him and the associated pressure this brings.

It's a given what the club has done in order to get his body right and the opportunity to allow him to play football.

However the hype surrounding him cannot be healthy.

I wonder with all this hype though, if it is more a means to justify why such a club with a struggling list is persisting with a guy who can't run. It reaks of desperation. We have craved a power forward ever since roger the dodger left for the sunshine state. After seeing Brown a few weeks back, you can see why.

Any power forward with Lloyd and Lucas and Hille/Laycock - makes for a very potent combo.

Good luck to the kid - if he even plays one AFL game he will achieved so much.

I think he will most likely play the second half of each quarter. When the sting is out of the game a bit.
Not that there is much sting in a VFL reserves match.
