How is this kid not in your 1s. Just came back form watching willy vs werribee and this kid did well on Pods and then went forward and was very good. Can play both small and Tall.
Should be in your 1s

Hate to say but J Cloke is useless.

I had a quick chat to T Cloke and he seems to be a really nice guy very down to earth. Needs a little shav thow:D

Rusling was extremely impressive today. I also went to the game, and he could have booted a lot more had he played forward all day and not at FB for 3/4s. He will develop into a very good player.

Other efforts worth noting:

Iacobucci - racked up the touches and was very good
Heath Shaw - solid all day
Coley - showed some promise after quieter efforts in previous weeks

Billy Morrison in the 2's was also rock solid and was the key mover up forward.

Sorry Bogan but we cannot take any reports on J.Cloke at the VFL seriously from opposition supporters, and most from Collingwood supporters. One time it was reported that J.Cloke was useless and had about 8 kicked on him, when in fact that was not his oponent and was close to best on ground. He probably was useless but he was also named in the best.

How did B.Shaw go? What Shaw was named in the best? Brayden or Heater? It just says Shaw!

Not sure which Shaw it was lol.

J Cloke struggled at times to man up, hes disposal isnt to great and he seems nothing like the player he was in 02. He got a lot of cheap kicks today. Im not sure who named the best today but if J Cloke and P bowden were bothed named in the best its a bit of a joke. Plus if you remeber i am not a collingwood basher like some and have started threads on the main board saying how i rate your spine highly.

Russlin thow looks like he could be anything a FF a FB a mid fielder.

Whats the info on him age draft pick you used on him?

From my post today in the thread asking how your first-year players are going...

Pick 23 from 2005 draft -Sean Rusling (West Adelaide U/18)
A smokey who we spotted playing school footy and persuaded him to play a quarter with West Adelaide late in the season so he could qualify for the draft. Played three games so far and looks a real likely type. Has fantastic pace, has a big leap, is a good mark and looks an accurate kick by foot and for goal. Will be a player.

He has looked extremely nervous out on the field... give him time in the 1's and he will develop into a superstar

Didn't Podsiadly kick 3 on him and take quite a few marks ?(I didn't see the game just going on some of the press reports and stats).

I read that also, that he had a good first half, then Pods had a huge third quarter taking five marks and kicking three, so Rus was moved to the forward line where he kicked the first goal of the last, and set up one or two more.

Yes, Podsiadly did have a big third term (2.1), taking lots of marks, but Rusling was overall very good, playing in what I'd assume would be an unfamiliar position (FB) for him. For a first year player to play on a mature 23 year old KPP and hold him admirably, I think that it shows promising signs for the future.
I suppose that Podsiadly could have done more damage if he had kicked straight, but there is no reason to take that into account after the result.
I was surprised by the match up early, thinking Podsiadly would kill him in strength battles and that all Rusling needed to do was run to be dangerous, but it turned out to be an enthralling battle.

Its all a learning exercise for the kid.
Learning defensive skills is very important to a prospective on baller

Also played on Sylvia against Sandy and had about five kicked on him in a quarter. All good, its a learning exercise and I wouldn't want to see him pigeon holed as just a full forward. Looks the type of player who may be capable of playing just about every position on the field.

Hope so hotpie. I haven't seen him exhibit below the knee skills as yet though.
Hasnt got the base fitness for that. Hopefully it will come, along with the ability for people to spell his name properly.

Both Rusling and Egan are two good pre-seasons away from getting the bodies they will ultimately require.
Rusling is a monty to be an onballer in the 'Judd' mould (but perhaps not quite as good) able to get the ball, move fast, take an overhead grab etc.

Egan looked like he had a body half the size of those he was playing against in Sydney, I think he will play slightly less 'baulked up' than Rusling will eventually be.

The odd senior game only for Rusling at present I think. I'd rather he played full games ijn a number of roles in the VFL with the odd senior game to keep showing what the pace of the big time is like. He really isn't an AFL footballer yet.

Id say give him 5 to 6 games at Willy then the last 2 or 3 at Collingwood, a steal IMO at pick 23

J clo does suck! no doubting it!
as for russling, he has teh physical attributes and his skills arent to bad, but will he be mentally able to compete with the big bodied men of teh comp!
There was an opurtunity for him to clean up one there forwards and stop them rebounding from the 50 but he didnt do it! tehy rebounded and i think tehy may have scored a goal! Now some will argue he is young and tuff for his size and blah blah, which is fine just as long as he isnt woewodin like in his attack the ball in a few years time! The signs are there he could be a gun and hopefuly he will gain sum confidence and not be weak like woey!

Are you saying that you think J. Cloke is useless in general or he was useless last Sunday. I was at the game also and thought he was very good. Were we at the same game?
I didnt think he played well, he was not manin up and let Walsh kick 2 or 3 in the 3rd quarter unless he is unmanned i dont belive he can do much.

Was good, presented, chased, shepherded, allowed players to kick a couple of goals. The only thing you could be critical of is that he kicked 1.4....but its only a matter of time til he kicks 4 or 5

had a very encouraging first quarter and a bit but went out of the match as it continued

was also hard for him when Port had an extra player dropping back on him and the delivery kept sitting on his head

some very good signs there though, like the look of him very much so
