I didn't say he is no good... I said he is a great tagger, so I'm lost as to where you are going with this.

yeah, like i said, sorry if i jumped. probably picked the wrong post to reply to. :thumbsu:
the comment i was referring to was "because he is not good enough to be in the best 22 when he is not trying to stop someone else and win his own ball", which reading back now in the context of your post isn't that bad, but seems to be the main argument from most people on the Crowley hate train.

bump..

well they have a few now..quite a few.

On Crowley....did an amazing job on Jack tonight.

Knows now not to push it to far. Disciplined player now.

Ross' number one ATTACK DOG!!..as Robbo calls him.

respect or hate Crowley?

discuss
I think it's possible to both respect and dislike a player. Ballantyne and Crowley fit that category for me. Love watching them play other teams, hate watching them play us.

Having said that I'm looking forward to watching them collect their premiership medals this weekend.

I dont like what he does but if he get his job done

Players look beaten when he runs over

Yeh I've noticed that at the start of matches, particularly against Geelong. He has a sence of humour too. He quite often goes and makes contact with a midfielder then just before the bounce walks to the other side of the centre circle and goes to his true opponent. It's like the Grim Reeper knocking on your front door.

Problem with footy and society these days is there is no consequences for people's actions, players like Crowley and Ballantyne would not have been able to do what they do and been upright, unfortunately the do gooders in schools , governments and AFL house have allowed for bully's and cowards to prosper with no physical consequences for their cowardly actions, saying all that they work extremely well within the current rules and are incredibly effective players who are certainly going to serve it to the mighty Hawks on Saturday.

All the nagging is going to come back 10 fold to this bloke,
Pushes the extremes with the annoying shit knowing that there's no other way who he's tagging can retaliate.

Someone is going to run through him soon.

At the game - saw he him taking the piss out of Jack by implying he looked like a hamster!!! Funniest moment of the night
Did he imply that sentiment verbally, or did he merely mime it?

Because surely, to convey via the latter method to someone that they look like a hamster is, by definition, to make oneself look like a hamster.

Just curious.

Hate tagging, think it's a blight on the game, and anti-football. It's quite obvious illegal tactics are going on to stop the players we love to watch do their thing, there's no other way he'd be keeping ablett and co to 10 touches. It'd be fine if he was doing it fair and square but until the umps start paying holding frees at stoppages etc he'll keep bearhugging players well before they've got the ball (and pinching them etc). A camera on him for a whole game would be interesting.

The only way to beat a player like Crowley is with a team effort from the midfield. WC use to do this brilliantly for Judd/Cousins/Kerr by having other players laying blocks and shepherds on the tagger every chance they got. It is very rare to see that nowadays which makes it so very easy for Crowley just to sit on a bloke all game.

Don't like the way he plays the game but he is damn good at what he does and doesn't get anywhere near the effort put into him that is required to stop him having such an influence over a game.

After the bullshit pinching thing Fox put a camera on him for one of the games without Crowley's knowledge. Nothing came of it because he did nothing wrong so there was nothing worth showing.

As for anti-footballers stopping good players, Darren Glass has made a good career out of it.

Probably the biggest cult player in the game at the moment, always brings some lols.

I've long been a fan of Crowley, although I of course hate him when against us.

That said, if he does his usual against the Hawks, I could see some Hawk retaliation (meh, few weeks off, still won the flag). Mitchell-Crowley would be a great contest.
