It's great that Freo have Brett Kirk as assistant coach. He is proof that you can be a legendary tagger without being an annoying little twerp. But I'm not sure Crowley has what it takes to achieve that.

Nope - didn't ask anyone. But pretty sure the off-topic explosions were just going to put the thread into a tail-spin so good call.
Stick a camera on Crowley and it exposes his critics.
You calling Crowley an arseh*le is a bigger explosion than me calling Murphy a marshmallow
An arseh*le of particular quality.
Tone's a good bloke, he has three not bad looking daughters.A lot of people say that sort of thing about Tony Abbott.
I didn't call him an arseh*le. I said "he looks like a top-shelf arseh*le." Looks like. As in the only impression I've gotten of him via the TV-thingy in the corner is that of an arseh*le. Some others seem to think similarly. Some others don't.

I don't understand why you keep going back to Murphy.Ah I get that now, you were jumping to hasty conclusion based on brief and incpomplete visual impressions of Crowley which might have misled you into believing that he is an areshole.
Whereas I was basing my post on the cold hard fact that Murphy folded like a pack of cards when he was up against a hard man tagging him.
Easy to see that mine was an explosion deserving to be deleted and yours was, well, something else. Cheers for the explanation.
There's a piece quoting Greg Williams in today's The Age on dealing with Crowley. Agree the umpires have a role to play in ensuring his tagging is within the rules. Too often they turn a blind eye to tactics that fall outside the Laws of the Game in my view. Not only relating to Crowley.

Besides Crowley, is there any other player in the league who's footballing ability makes them play nothing but a tagging role ??
It was especially ridiculous when Scott said that Brent Harvey would have knocked him out if it was the 80's. Because Brent Harvey is the world's toughest man, am I right?
Nick Smith and Craig Bird from your own team come to mind. Could just be their use by the coach, rather than a lack of ability to do anything else though.
As though players never actually copped suspensions for striking in the '80s, just as they do now...
How in the hell do you hold down the "chief" role. Can't believe what I'm seeing. Get a more informed opinion on American redneck sites than your tripe.I didn't call him an arseh*le.
