He's good at that job. Just seems like an arseh*le. It is conceivable that I am wrong. I am yet to see evidence of this.

You weren't defending him: you went on an off-topic rant about someone else entirely, perhaps because you couldn't think of any way to defend him but to deflect onto something else. I don't know. You choose what you post, not me.

It was me that deleted it caterina, you had more than just 'one post', the post in question was rightly deleted (which I can explain to you via PM if you so wish), it certainly wasn't deleted at the request of Chief or anyone else, and frankly this thread's done in my view.

Nice distortion. For the record, I objected to you calling Crowley an arseh*le and labelled it one of your poorer posts, and you responded with this

To which I replied there are more accurate representations of reality, such as the fact that Murphy's capitualtion at the hands of Crowley was the worst performance by a player Crowley has tagged all year, and by the end of the game he was a shell of a man. It was just an illustrative example of what an accurate representation of reality is. I could have easily given several other examples of reality, all related to how crap Carlton are, but I chose that one.

Crowley beat Jack offensively on Saturday that's for sure. You can stick with Craig Bird though, I'm happy with Crowley.

My opinion is based on the information available to me.

The vicious responses from people who took this personally are not in my control. As such I am withdrawing. Also, I don't care that much.
 
I think the point is that the reaction is almost palpable from the opposition guns when Crowley sidles up to them. Their heads drop and the fans go "oh no, my favourite player aint gonna get a kick today..... I hate Crowley!" And much of the snide ex-playing "experts" in the media jump in for the ride. He's not a thug - his MRP record would back that up. He's just the finest in the league at tagging. Don't believe for one minute that every other team doesn't have at least one tagger. Just that many of them are not disciplined enough to carry it out for 120 minutes. Tom Liberatore, Kane Cornes, Clint Jones or even the name Carazzo ring a bell here?
There may just be a fine line between "hate" and "envy" here for you Chief. I respect your right to defend Murphy but the result of their last encounter was there for all footy followers to see. And it wasn't pretty for your captain!
And so the puerile reaction of likening him to an arseh*le does not make you look pretty either.

Guys, this is the beauty of GF week. It is tradition for supporters to pick a side and get into the vibe and spirit in anticipation of the big day. Most clubs have players who on some level could be viewed as "arseholes". This is the week we all relax and tell it how it is in order to be apart of it all.

The build up is fantastic. For every Freo and non-Freo supporter salivating at the thought of Crowley shutting down a Mitchell or a Hodge in emphatic fashion there is another Hawks or non-Hawks supporter out there salivating at the thought of Brent Guerra steam-rolling him. This is footy, it's theatre, it's the GF so don't get your panties in a knot.

Crowley is an arseh*le (of sorts), it's part of his MO and his success and for neutrals it makes the GF all that better a prospect.

Bring it on. :thumbsu:

Crowley's game is probably the most scrutinised of any player and yet there is zero empirical evidence that he does anything at all illegal(except obviously for infringements he's pinged for during games).
The irrational accusations are emotional horseshit;he is an enormously effective tagger who rides the rules as much as he can get away with and no further.He'll do it again this week 'cos don't forget he is also floggingly consistent.
