Hodge running through players? Would have to be one of the biggest faux tough guys in the history of the game.
Maybe not but what's certain is that whoever he goes to definitely won't be in contention.

It would be an absolute shambles if they gave it to a bloke whose main objective is to stop someone from playing well, instead of playing well himself.
Such a bullshit way of looking at it. This is a team game. Playing well IS doing your bit to help the team.
Managed to get a fair bit of the footy against the Swannies.
He has a role , he plays it well. Get over it.

kept jack to eleven possies while racking up twenty-two himself and a goal last week. he can find his own ball OK.

Agree totally, but he was no where near the "best" player on the field, he did well by tagging someone and gaining a few shank possessions himself, but nowhere near best on ground in my opinion.
Fyfe by a mile was BOG.
I rate Crowley and think he is easily the best tagger in the comp, but would hate to see a tagger awarded the Norm Smith, it won't happen anyway.

One thing that really did impress me though was when he took that ripper mark at full back, when one on one v Jack - That was awesome, surprised me!

they're not just shank possessions, though, he's winning clearances, linking up and providing a forward option. if he keeps mitchell or whoever to a dozen touches and kicks a couple himself, then he'll influence the game. but yeah, unlikely for the NS.

He's not that great with ball in hand, was pretty average with his disposal, no doubt he spanked Jack though either way you look at it!

He's in the lower half of the league, put it that way.
Who do you think he will get this week - The obvious choice in Mitchell or someone else that can kill you with outside run like a Smith or Birchall? What about Hodge - Will someone go to him as well?

So let's say.. Bastinac got given the role as tagger next year and kept all the competitions best quiet whilst not getting much of the ball himself, North made the GF (heaven forbid) and was given the norm smith for keeping Mitchell or someone quiet and getting a few touches too, then you wouldn't accept that? Silly!
I actually think Crowley will go to Lewis or Snith & DeBoer will go to Mitchell. Bit of a curve ball. Mitchell is too obvious now.
