As for who Crowley tags - Jordan Lewis is my bet. Gets as many I50s as Mitchell, more dangerous around goal, probably easier to tag.

Barlow or Suban might be told to follow around Mitchell.

Go ahead and abuse the cheap tactics of Solly or Carr but theres no denying that Ryan Crowley is one of the best premier taggers of the competition at the moment.
And he plays fair too (unlike the other 2)

Crowley seems like a fairly decent tagger and played a good game against Ablett when they played at Subi earlier in the year.

No where near the class of Ling or Kane Cornes but should be a handy player for Frementle going forward.

Still think Kane Cornes is a Better tagger than Crowley now?

well done Crowls, agruably our best finals player this year. beat all 3 opponents johnson, jack and mitchell in all 3 finals. and we all know he did not pinch the liar brent harvey. easily one of the worst tribunal decisions in the last decade. guilty on no evidence , i don't begrude sam mitchell his medal. he is a great player but was crowlised today

Kane Cornes and Jackson can win games because they will hurt the other way, he's below average with the ball in hand, stopping the oppositions best doesn't win games, you'd have just as much effect having another gun midfielder to go head to head with the oppositions best, it's equal output.

When it came time for Crowley to do something with the ball, he completely embarrassed himself with his 'shot' at goal.

As Ive said, he's an elite stopper, rubbish footballer.

On the contrary, I think he was a huge part of their Preliminary Final win. Apart from beating Jack and significantly reducing the impact of a club captain who was in an AA year, he was leading from the front for his club and their style; Freo wins games by playing suffocating defence, and that was very much the case in the PF and Ryan absolutely set the tone for his team.

Hawthorn pick teams apart with precise, measured field kicking- and people will say that Hodge "led the way" for them regularly as he sets up off half back (take the QF against Sydney, for example). Freo clamp down on teams with immense pressure until it gets in their head and they cough the ball up, I think it's fair to say Crowley leads the way for them in that regard.

And before anyone is up in arms, no- I'm not suggesting Crowley is as good a player as Hodge.

Considering his game is valued directly on what one other player has done, a player who can suffocate and urt the other way has a bigger differential in output. Crowley best result is an even break, this is why someone like Cornes or Jackson can win a game, Crowley can not.

Will Fremantles style ever win a grand final? I sure as hell hope not!

crowley may of beat mitchell yesterday but i thought mitchell and the hawks handled it beautiful didn't push and shove crowley try get in his face and mitchell just took it on the chin, still thought mitchell had plays where he didn't get a stat but more so knocked it on to advantage or tackled hard, he's got a premiership medal now so doubt he will be crying himself to sleep becasue he didn't get 30
