Great start by the young lad, very impressive. Any chance to crack his way back in the side soon, and what would you guys say his chances are of holding his spot if he does?

He was out of the side because of injury, not form. As to holding his spot when he does come back...they're playing Rooke as a forward and at some point Mackie and eventually Egan have to slot back in. But I don't think he'd be dropped for form, the kid's a gun and is the best young small forward we've got.

i got the shock of my life when i didnt see him out there last week!!
he obviously had an injury because you can't drop him on the back of a 3 goal game in R2

if he keeps that form up he wont see a VFL guersey again this year i'm tipping

Would be surprised if, when fully recovered from his 'hip injury', he did not replace town favourite Byrnes. He kicks more goals than Shannon (> 0) and has a great leap and presents solidly. Will be interesting to see if he still holds his place upon the return of the more senior players currently injured.

According to The Age today it was a "hip" injury and it said his fitness was to be "tested." Not 100% sure but i think he may have missed several VFL games last year with a hip injury as well.

That's the thing that's great about him, he doesn't play small. He's got a great leap that makes him an awkward match up. Can't put a small on him, he'll just jump all over them; & most sides can't afford to put a tall/mid on him with Cam and the Hawk just next door.

Ryan definitely deserved to come straight back in, regardless of who's expense it was at.

I was worried it wouldn't happen, but very glad it did.
