Local lad delisted from Geelong, would be a decent pick up in pre-season draft or rookie draft IMO.
Any takers.

Mods move this to draft thread if need be

He's from the Mount Gambier area if my memory serves. I always thought he was alright, but he's not really a standout and we've got plenty of mid-sized forwards that should be alright at least.

Actually I just looked him up and he's shorter than I thought he was. Still, I'm not sure he's what we need.

Mt Burr (Mid South East League) Mt Gambier is in the Western Border League.

The South East of SA is confusing for football as there are 3 Leagues within 50 km

I do not know if there is any info on their site

Yeah, thought it was Mt Burr. I have some friends who spent much of their youth in Mt Burr and they knew him at school.

If he was there as a rookie, I would take a punt on him. He's played mainly as a mid-sized forward with some success (at Geelong admittedly) but I would be curious to see if he could play through the midfield where we still lack some depth, especially in his age group.

4 years ago when we had no forward line to speak of I would have considered it but I can't see a spot for him in our forward line - he's be well behind Tippett, Walker, Henderson, Porps, Knights and we'd also be trying to squeeze in guys like McKernan and Jaensch ahead of Gamble.

I like him a lot as a rookie choice - especially as a Mackie-esque midfielder. Geelong kept him as a forward in their AFL side, but he had some success as a midfielder in the VFL.

If he is still available in the rookie draft I'd be happy for us to take him.

He's very talented, and I could see him flourishing if given a chance as a midfielder.

Yeah I'm from that area before moving to Adelaide this year for university reasons.

There is actually 4 leagues within that region.

MSE is where Gamble is from.

WBFL is actually a higher standard of football but the gap is shortening every year. Max Rooke from Geelong came from that league (Casterton to be precise), Matty Clarke is also a Gambier boy. In fact this year we had triple premiership player Mal Michael & Courtney Johns running around in our league for Heywood.

Anyway getting back to Gamble I think he is a good talent, but i just think he isn't the right fit for us for a main list spot. Rookie list maybe, it's just that we will have to fit Porplyzia, Knights & Jaensch into our forward 50 next year I don't think that leaves room for Gamble as well. Although apparently he went well playing as a HBF/midfielder in the VFL this year

You've also got Henderson and Gunston who'd similarly would qualify as medium forwards. You would look at him as a rookie pick, sure, but we're not really in the market for a ready to go medium forward. If he was a genuine crumbing small forward then perhaps, but AFAIK, he's more that medium forward type which we have plenty of.

Really thought he was going to kick on after the 2008 season however hasn't really been given much opportunities at Geelong. I wouldn't mind him at all however apparently his attitude is a problem. He's a really talented guy though, can kick some freakish goals and has a bit of X factor about him. Played in the backline in the VFL this year in order for him to get more of a go in the senior side but still didn't get a chance. I'd rookie him, deserves another shot, better than alot of other options out there.

I think he'd be a good pick up for our rookie list. Some people are forgeting he's not just a forward but can play in defense as well and we all know how Craigy loves verstile players.

Very interested as a rookie. We have no need for medium forwards but he's capable of being more than that. I'd take Moss first.
