Yeah, a lot of us have said he had the potential to become good midfielder/forward. Prototype big bodied midfielder that wins the ball and can take a grab. Good to see him living up to some of the potential he has.

Drop him.Among his best from the 59 played to date but according to AFL stats didn't make a tackle? [Rnd09 - 2015 against the saints]
the statistician?Drop him.
‘Froggy’ played three quarters before we took him off as our emergency. He was very good, I think he had 29 touches, three quick steps from stoppage, and the ability to impact and spread from stoppage was fantastic. Strong in the contest, shaped the ball well and equalised as a midfielder. A really good standard that may put him into contention again.
Ryan was good for three quarters until he injured himself. He hurt his knee and now will probably miss the rest of the year. Again a good inside role for us, a big focus is spreading from stoppage, driving his legs which he was very good at. He was certainly missed in the back half of the game.
Ryan Lester was named the 2015 Marcus Ashcroft Most Professional Player Award with Zac O’Brien the recipient of the Neville Fallon Reserves Best and Fairest.
Ryan Lester’s recognition as the Most Professional Player at the recent 2015 Club Champion presentation evening was reward for effort after a difficult year.
In his fifth AFL season, Lester has proven he has the necessary drive and determination to succeed at the elite level, despite suffering an injury setback in Round 15 against the Swans in the Reserves, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.
Lester used the opportunity to thank those departing the Lions, who had helped him along the journey.
“Thanks to the people departing the Club at the end of this year, both players and staff.
“Your contributions have been enormous to this football club and you’ll be sorely missed”, he said.
“To the members and the fans, thank you for your support. It’s been a tough year, but good times are around the corner. We appreciate your support.”
Ryan Lester played nine senior games in 2015. At 190cm tall and 85kg, he is able to play varying roles across the field. In a surprise showing, he booted four goals in Round 9 against St Kilda, providing an answer to the question of who would fill the void left up forward in Daniel McStay’s absence through injury. Spending time in the NEAFL side during the season, Lester was sidelined with a knee injury in Round 15 and wasn’t able to return to the senior team.
Bit of a bump.
Lesters playing that 3rd tall forward type this season and i think he is working his way into it nicely.
Excellent game today with the only contest he lost convincingly was in the last 5 mins. Ball hardly gets away from him.
He has played 6 games there this season. Id say they are settled with where they want him.exactly where he needs to play out the season. Dont hold your breathe though as he has had this sort of a game before up forward. Next week the coaches could play him at back pocket haha. I hope he stays forward
