stepped up well lateley in the absence of so many other senior players. May have earnt himself a lifeline.

I'll admit I thought he was touch and go at the end of last year but has been okay for much of the year.

Thoughts?

Touch and go??

He's been servicable for us for sometime.

Fact is, there's a fair whack of people who expect him to be a superstar, mainly based on his trademerk long running goal. Kick five of them a week and he will be!

But he is and will be a very servicable player. He's good aerially and he is quick. His loose ball collection, fills me with about as much confidence as when Woey goes for a loose one (ie. not much).

He's a good kid, coming off a tough couple of years, who will only get stronger and mentally tougher as he gets older.

IMO no one can judge what his value will be until he is played on a wing for at least a month. I'm pretty disapointed that with inconsequential games we don't play a very young midfield and put Lonie on a wing for the rest of the year. Very short sighted.

How old is he????

just turned 21 I think.

I think he's got alot on other players his age around the AFL.

Plus the fact he is about the 6th most intimidating player in the AFL according to the players themselves (or the 25 or so Collingwood players who filled in his name as a joke).

Collingwood have to keep him because...

1. He's a thumping left foot.
2. He gives 110% every week.
3. He can kick a goal when the game is up for grabs.

Class.

He has shown newfound flexibility with his stints up forward. Could be a potential 3rd tall forward? with Pebbles and Taz back in.

Better up there showing his skills than in a back pocket not getting a sniff.

Been Playing well lately Snaggin 1 or 2 goals a Game.. I like him up forward..

But i Agree with Mark T, he must be playerd on the wing for teh rest of the year. We Must look forward.. Thats his Position!

Valuable asset to the pies.

Ryan Lonie is a handy player forward or back. I perfer him back but its up to MM anyway. He has a HUGE kick so he comes in handy.

I love me some Ryan Lonie. Future champion of the club in my opinion. I will throw my membership away if he is traded within the next 2 years. When he gets the ball you can tell he will use to 9/10 times perfect. Abit more bulk and i could see him tearing it up on the wing.

Protected player, has been more than worthy of playing VFL on plenty of occasions. he can be good at best, never does anything special or particularly praise worthy. Will stay in the 22 as long as he shall live.

Your last two posts confuse the hell out of me WZA.
Which one are you sticking with?

You're right, i apoligze.

I guess i was just letting my love for Lonie get to me in the first post. The second one made much more sense and is probaly more to the point. It's just everytime he gets the ball i have 100% confidence that he will put it lace out onto somebodys ****** and his long runs are something to watch.
