What the hell is a GIB???

i actually think he is one of the most talented rookies around. Has a great career in front of him

Ryan Lonie looks like an outstanding prospect. The way he backed himself for that goal outside 50 was great.

P*ss off idiot. Let's discuss that you unregistered weak turd.

The future is black and white.

What is a gib ???? The only thing I can think of is maybe it has something to do with when Lonie pulled out of a contest allowing Essendon to goal.

You poor deluded f*ckwits.

Ryan Lonie is embarking on what is going to be one of the most celebrated football careers in the history of the game. He will win football highest individual honour, the Copeland Trophy, at least 6 times. He will win at least 2 Norm Smith Medals and he might even pick up a Brownlow (not that I give a rat's arse about the Brownlow).

He is about to become an integral part of the greatest football team of all time. At the end of this century the names Lonie, Lockyer, Tarrant, Buckley, Fraser, Davis, Molloy and Betheras will be firmly etched in the history of The Club ... and the game of Australian Rules Football. And the mighty Collingwood team that is coming together bit-by-bit right before our eyes will be heralded as the team that set the benchmark for the entire 21st century.

Crawl off back to your irrelevant holes, you uninformed idiots.

I agree that Ryan Lonie will be a G.I.B.

General In Backline.

Best player from 2000 Draft so far, by a mile!

So far as the Essendon goal is concerned, I think he had the ball spent before he had it. Nothing to do with lack of courage. Lonie is QUALITY!

And Didak will get a game in the next couple of weeks to add to the new era of silky skilled Collingwood players!

As for Lica, tell us something we don't know you halfwit.

I dont think easty will be at the Port game Joffa...least i bloody hope not

This has to be one of the stupidest posts, Lonie will be a star, didnt he kick 2 goals from defence?

Showed his class when he backed himself and took on Barnes I think and kicked a goal from outside 50 on the run.

I dont know where you pulled this gib sh!t from but Ryan Lonie is going to be a star, its a pitty he aint at Hawthorn with his brother
biggrin.gif

If Nathan Lonie turns out to be 3/4 as good as his brother then Hawthorn will be happy

My sister is friends with the Lonies, and although I haven't seen them play much myself (other than Ryan this year) there are mixed opinions about who is the better. Nathan is a forward who can do the freaky while Ryan is the ever reliable backman. I'm sure Hawthorn are rubbing their hands together as we speak waiting for Nathan to get onto the track. (incidently, I think he is pretty close to a game.......a couple of injuries to the Hawks and he will probably get a gournsey)

i saw a fair bit of both the lonies last year

ryan has fitted into collingwoods game plan brilliantly, has all the skills, good hands and a great kick, he should develop into a great player

i think nathan could be better though, he has better skills but probably isnt as developed for afl football as is brother yet and may take a couple of years

Nathan also has the "soft" tag attached to him. The lads were dubbed the Lonie Sisters at Dandenong, but as is often the case, the attributes of one player often filter over to the twin player.

Collingwood had a chance to pick up Nathan (three times in fact) and chose not to! Malthouse knew he was getting the good one and must have been in complete shock when he saw Ryan was still on the list at pick 34!

For what it is worth, Sh!te Mike Sheehan was asked early-mid last year, who he thought were the potential top draftees for 2000. He cited Nick Riewoldt and Ryan Lonie. Basically he should have gone top ten. He sure as hell would go top five if it were held again today!

figjam i dont think your quite right there

there is a difference between ryan lonie and most of the draft picks that went before him

lonie is ready for afl football, the others arent

this doesnt make lonie a better player than the others, it just means that they will take time to develop physically and perhaps mentally aswell
