I understand the young man wants to come back to melbourne at the end of this season...how do you rate him and what could you expect for him in a trade with a melbourne based club!

I can't imagine teams will give much up for dunn. Freo will better off holding on to him and hoping he improves.
Brogan coming to freo will kill sandi or Jlo.

Yep hang on to dunny. We don't need Brogan, we can draft one of the top WAFL ruckmen as a backup.

Not that i have seen much of Dunn. But IMO he has to either bulk up and become a big strong enforcer type midfielder ( aka J brown). Or Lose a bit of wieght and improve his fitness.

Ooze's talent , but has been set back repeatedly with injury not allowing him to actually get any match fitness or confidence.

He will be another Hodge, that takes until his 3rd year to make an impact. We have just got to make sure that he makes an impact for us.

There's NO way Freo would even consider getting rid of him. We have several midfielders either getting on a bit or with some question marks over their futures - Belly, Cookie, Schofield, Macca.

Ryley Dunn is an important cog in the future of our club.

Rumours, rumours....

Every time a WA boy at a non-WA club is coming out of contract he is "homesick" and wants to come home. Ditto an SA boy, and ditto a Vic boy. 9 times out of 10 the player signs with his club and that puts an end to the rumour.

Ryley and Byron Schammer are thick as thieves, best of buddies. Schammer is an SA boy who is signed up till 2007. Of course, you can never be 100% until the ink is drying on the dotted line, but I reckon it won't be long before we see it announced that young Dunny has signed on for another couple of years, and another rumour about a homesick Victorian is laid to rest. IMHO.

To be honest I'd be happy if Dunn (184cm and 85kg) left at seasons end as long as we got a 1st round pick in return. In a midfield that is already slow I can't see a spot for him there anytime soon, unless he is really good at winning clearances. If he was good at winning clearances then he would be playing in the middle for the sharks. If he stays for another couple of seasons and still hasn't shown that he will be a good footballer at the highest level then we won't get anything for him (like Dylan Smith when he left the roos). If we did get a first round pick for him and he did become a good player at another club I guess people could say I told you we should have kept him, but 2 first round picks would help us improve our problem area- height and pace in the midfield.
