HOW IT CAME TO THIS POINT:

In what will be a titanic struggle, The Coney Island Warriors and the Dragons FFC clash to determine which club will progress to the Grand Final next week. Although these teams finished the SFA Season 22 in Second and eighth respectively, they took differing paths to this PreliminaryFinal showdown

Coney Island Warriors: 2nd – 11wins, 6 losses, 108.33%
Second Qualifying Final – defeated Las Vegas Bears 13.10 (88) - 25.7 (157)

Dragons FFC: 8th – 6 wins, 10 losses, 94.33%
Second Qualifying Final – Defeated Sin City Swamprats 13.10 (88) - 25.7 (157)
Second Semi Final – defeated The Roys FFC 14.14 (98) – 14.11 (95)

For the winner, a historic Grand Final berth awaits. The vanquished will have to regroup for another tilt in S23.

HISTORY:

The Warriors have never played the ultimate decider. Their overall finals record is 2/3 - in their maiden finals berth in S19, they eliminated the Bears in the first round before bowing out at Warrior hands in the semis, and last season they blew the double chance in a straight sets collapse to the Wolves and Wonders.

The Dragons have not played in a Grand Final since December 14 2006, when they were defeated by the then-Alberton Swamprats, and since their readmittance to the league in S18 had only won one final before last weekend, beating the Wolves in the Elimination Final in S20 before crashing out at the hands of the Swamprats the following week. They were eliminated by the Royals in the first round in S19, and were eliminated by the Wonders in their only final last season. Their overall finals record is 4/5.

PREPARATION:

The Warriors have had a relaxing week off, having accounted for the Bears by 26 points in the Qualifying final. Captain Wooshette and ordered a feast and three-day celebration as reward for reaching their maiden Preliminary Final

For the Dragons, who looked like finishing 9th after a last round victory until a lucky simmer error allowed them to pinch eighth spot with a resimmed tie. They suffered elimination Final nerves, and crumbled to a 69 embarrassment against the Warriors, but skipper Hate managed to regroup and found a muse to sooth their jangled nerves. #doitforAntBear will become a war cry for them for many seasons…

THIS SEASON:

The teams only clashed once in Season 22. In round 8, the Warriors were on top of their form, Packedlunch booting 7 goals as the ran all over the Dragons after quarter time to win by 57 points, 22.11 (143) to 13.8 (86); however their overall record against the Dragons is poor with only 2 wins from their 7 matches since their first meeting in S18.

Final Words From the Captains:

Warriors: It seems every time we come up against the Dragons in a big game there's some sort of drama involved, this time it is their sheer luck scraping into finals due to a simming error, whereas the Warriors got here on the back of hard work, perfect team sheet management..and a lot of booze fuelled weekends.
The Dragons (or as we affectionately call them 'the Tapeworms') and Warriors have a strong history and rivalry, including the S19 GF which the Dragons won in what some people at the time saw as contoversial circumstances, and last seasons heartbreaking drawn final with a resim that saw us lose heavily. Well it would have been heartbreaking to a softer club, but the Warriors picked themselves up, shook it off and moved on without missing a beat, and here we are in a Prelim.
Enjoy the game, it will be a cracker.
Go Warriors!

Dragons:
Season 22 for the Dragons FFC has been a fairly bumpy ride. All season long we have suffered close defeats, but finals is a whole different ball game. You learn from those losses and so far in this finals campaign I believe they have helped us to get to yet another Preliminary Final. The Coney Island Warriors are a tough unit and we have a very storied history with them ever since they joined the league. In Season 19 we beat them in the big dance and last season we put a huge dent in their finals campaign smashing them by more than 90 points. These results give us a lot of confidence going into this weekend. Win or lose, it's going to be a cracking game of Qooty to watch.
Make sure you buy an OLED TV to watch it on.

Captains must submit their teams in a post that contains the words “Official Team Sheet” by 11.59pm on Thursday 8/12/16. Penalty for incorrect team sheet may be as severe as a 4 goal start to the opponent and/or missing the Grand Final

Good effort Sterge but your researcher needs to take a few lessons. Or learn to read properly.

Fantastic OP, even if it was 100% incorrect. A lot of effort went in to being that wrong.

Anyway, we get to play the Tapeworms, which means, if there is a God, or Gaia, or even karma we will win this.

Never mind that we're the better club.

C'mon Warriors, let win this and make another big dance.

If you look hard enough you will see there are zero mistakes

Well there is. You basically copied the other Prelim OP and changed the team names and players.

So all the information is incorrect.

One game away before toxic makes his triumphant return to Sin City...

Is that where the Grand Final is being played?
