West Coast Wonders v Coney Island Warriors
Season 22 Head2Head
Round 1: West Coast Wonders 26.6 (162) defeated Coney Island Warriors 21.8 (134)
Round 12: Coney Island Warriors 19.6 (120) defeated West Coast Wonders 10.10 (70)
Summary
Over the offseason the West Coast Wonders pillaged the Geelong Wolves bringing in NickCC, Kangaroos4eva and mike123 but were weakened with the departure of Golumless. Meanwhile in Coney Island, premiership Wonder craffles jumped onboard along with I Dont Care from the Swamprats.
The opening round was somewhat of a disaster for both teams. The Wonders were upset by reigning wooden spooners and preseason rabble the Wolves in a tough slog in muddy conditions, despite Kangaroos4eva laying 10 tackles. The Warriors with the exception of Frankston Rover and Raveneyes simply didn’t show up against the Furies in an embarrassing 90 point loss. They will be hoping to get All-SFA Jazny and Mobbenfuhrer Medalist Freofalcon back in the side to turn their fortunes around.
Players To Watch
Wonders
Rookie full forward Temploar looked lively early against the Wolves but went out of the game as the scoring dried up in the second half. Important game this week for both teams, Temploar could announce himself with a bag of goals here.
Warriors
craffles will be keen to have big game against the old club this week. He was a solid performer in the midfield last week before eventually being required to move to back pocket as the game was kept in the Warriors defensive half. If he can get on top of Wonders co-captain LicoriceAllsorts this week then a Warriors win would be likely.
Whose posts should you read if you are one of those weird people who like to read match threads that don’t involve you?
Allegedly dogs105 had some things to say in the Warriors thread during the week so might be some interesting interactions there. Frankston rover’s posts are always worth a read.
Tip
The Warriors appear to have hit rock bottom last week so the only way is up, tipping them to sneak home by 4 points.
