Agreed.

It’s quite ridiculous.
Seems to be, unless someone can explain why it’s high impact and affects the sim or games at all.

Update

The Bombers have chosen to challenge their charge, this has now been taken to a committee vote.

Stay tuned
We all know this but not everyone has access to committee discussions and would like a bit more open dialogue, especially on something so trivial which can be fixed with a few keyboard stokes :$

The punishment doesn’t fit the crime
First lets establish why it’s a crime? Crime has consequences, I’m just asking what are the consequences of not listing ins and outs, simmers? Stats? Not really sure.

Wouldn’t it have just been easier to give them a heads up and say “hey guys please change this”.

But no, they want to create more work for themselves it seems.

I actually didn’t know until after deadline.

But no, why would I give teams a heads up? Would be special treatment would it not?

According to ND’s rules, it is a crime

Hopefully common sense prevails & the penalty is reduced to something more appropriate

I’m all here for the real stuff, it’s always been a great part of the game and banter when people mess up team sheets and stuff…throw the book at them. This is very lame tho.

(I didn’t create those rules btw)
But you are admin now, how easy

- ins and outs don’t really affect simming and arn’t high impact, it would be a great courtesy if captains could list them as it helps with stats and badges etc.
“We will change that section to just a warning so people know it’s desirable. The rest of the squad submission rules remain the same“ Done.

Next minute match threads are up, people move on, committee discusses the important stuff.

I do agree it may need to be reviewed, I would say its more an issue for Hate and his archive keeping as opposed to Simmers.

For those of us newer players, who was Admin back then? 🤔
Oh I was, glad you asked :)

This was my approach to rule enforcement back in the day.

  • do not even bother reading the rules until someone tells me one's been broken
  • read the rule
  • decide I don't like the rule
  • get rid of the rule and tell people there is no longer a rule violation
  • brag about how the number of rule violations is at a record low

On the contrary, how does it impact anyone to the point that the team starts -2 and captains miss a game? For what?

Seems a bit ridiculous to enforce such a harsh penalty for this and not for the constant accusation of simmers cheating.

Committee will likely vote to uphold the suspension and penalty but that’s out of a sheer weight of excitement at the Bombers being embarrassed.

It just lacks commons sense and decency to enforce such a harsh penalty but by all means, go for it. It’s in the rules. But so is a million other things.

And I respect that greatly as you know.

Lets establish why it’s a ‘high impact’ kind of rule though, if it is, sure knock yourselves out. If it isn’t just make a small amendment and move on.
It’s a game, not rockey surgery.

Agreed. High impact would be incorrect list - missing players etc.

But missing a “transaction” between one season and the next, ESPECIALLY when they’re just delistings, how is it high impact?

Round 1 Team Sheets would need to include ins and outs if we follow the same approach - but we don’t because the general consensus is a new season starts fresh. So should the squad submission. And while I agree the transactions are good to include, they’re not absolutely critical to the functioning of the competition.

There should be standards in a professional sports league, getting a team sheet right would be the most basic one surely?
Thus the penalty fits and it's also really funny.

Except it’s not a team sheet, it’s the squad submission for the start if season 33…team sheets are a completely different thing.

Staggers me that some people still don't get this whole place is predicated on arbitrary, pedantic rules and gross overpunishments.
