Played basketball once against the top team in out league. They only had 4 turn up. They were so good they thrashed us in the scratch match we played (one of their guys later went to the NBL, and one the SEABL).
We got the 2 points as they couldn't field a team by the ten minute mark, so forfeited. That's what generally happens in organised sport.

It's a pretty simple concept I would have thought. Any team who can't field a side or fields a side with ineligible players forfeits a game, simple as that really. Any sort of organised competition would have the same sort of rules, regardless of what sort of event is taking place.

East Side Phoenix only had 10 players make a post / turned up for their last match

Since some are calling for the Bombers to be docked further points and the East Side didn't turn up against the Dragons should we just call it even and allow both teams to finish in the top.4

I just assumed that the correct outcome would eventuate with appropriate sanctions.

As much as I appreciate some people aren't sticklers for rules, this is more about how the game functions. If we have one team continually give a big **** you to everyone, it destroys the game. And it was a deliberate **** you. Not a lazy **** you.

I mean, I personally think the Bombers should have been banned from finals and awarded the wooden spoon. But I appreciate that that is an extreme measure that wouldn't have much support. But they actually deserve that sanction.

Except that one time that 34 players from one club were suspended and the admin made special allowances that allowed them to continue to compete.

Look, I'll admit I don't particularly want to come up against the Bombers, but this is more to do with the fact I don't want them winning the flag. We actually had a reasonable match thread against them previously. And the one before that too, I think.

My annoyance is two-fold: the ineptitude of the Administrator in handing out just penalties and how all these fantastic Bomber posters are let down by leadership, or lack thereof.

But hey, I get a week to engage with the Bomber posters who bring so much to this league, and ignore the posters who deliberately seek to ruin the game for the rest of us.
