What you really should be wanting to change is the Thursday deadline, not whether it incurs a point penalty or not. I think the deadline should be around midday Friday...
The thing is, most teams manage to adhere to the Thursday night deadline, so I don't think that's the real issue here. What this illustrates is the need for leadership groups to talk to each other.

This. Any team who leaves it to the last minute for whatever drama they are trying to create, and ****s it by missing the dead line has created their own problem.

One simple question.

Why didn't one of the SIX in the LG post a team just in case bangers didn't log on?

I don't disagree with you. Ultimately, most teams 99% of the time get their shit together.

I still think that the Thursday night deadline is a little "early" for lack of a better term.

On this I'm happy to make it 5am on the Friday so as to not disadvantage the Perth peeps during daylight savings.

Is it?

During my time here, 2 captains have missed the deadline. The way you are talking you would think it's a constant weekly struggle...

The simple answer they’ve never had call to look at the team sheet thread and have been spoiled by a run of competent co-captain systems. It wouldn’t have been missed by me but I’ve been away and only logging in to list the Deaneus side. Definitely questions to be answered but as ongoing LG I can understand how they missed something not being posted (by league law) in a separate thread that only has 18 people watching it.

Flip side it’s also easy to say to PMBangers if you’re unsure post the team on Wednesday. I know for a fact there are people that watch that thread like a hawk, if they like you they’ll give you a nudge.

From next week, I will keep an eye on the Team Sheet thread for PMBangers

Why is it early? If LG's can't choose their team in the allotted time - which I for one think is more than generous, then maybe that team should choose a new LG :).

Some LGs learning the hard way what an LG is actually supposed to do.

Here's a thought for the committee, maybe it should actually be the LG members that cop the ban instead of the captains.

It's literally their only job, make sure if the captain is otherwise engaged, someone posts a teamsheet before deadline.

Mate, you should see all the things I do as part of our LG. Ooh boy wowee, so many things. I don't even want to start listing them.

So you are essentially blaming The Filth Wizard ...

You mean like post 74 new threads per week? Yes, I can see how that could be a problem..........

It's probably a bit simplistic there, the buck always stops with a captain, they're the person selected to post a team sheet (or have volunteered themselves, moreso)

And I think I see ClarkeM's point in relation to posting at a set "day" time hour... have you ever seen a LG member bold enough to post a team sheet before their captain? And by that, I mean at any time before say 11.30pm on a Thursday. Not saying it's needed but I get it. People are around more during the day than they are at midnight.

I see a lot of call that it's the responsibility of the LG to back up their captain and I agree but that also requires the LG to be not only aware but also aware and ready to cover for their captain up to 11.58pm on a weeknight. There's a whack to be copped here for the captain for sure but there's some reasonable parameters of doubt for LG's that don't carry a co-captain.

Either way on this one I'll be urging my captain to have his sheet in on Wednesday for a while.

Wednesday is problematic for us .. we can never be sure someone won't get banned in any given 24 period lol!

Plus its my late Bingo night at the RSL.

I'm ok with banning the Royals' and Bears' entire LG's next week

Well lucky you'll still have Thursday in hand :D

How the **** does it disadvantage Perth peeps? What if a captain is living in Europe for a particular season? Should the time be pushed back further? What if a captain was living in New Zealand and they get an unfair advantage? (I'm being facetious)

*daylight saving
