shout out to the warriorsThere were actually several of these leading into the deadline, but some scrambling from the savvier clubs stopped this from being more entertaining.

Is it true tiger that there’s more to come!?Let's start with the slam dunk, since this happens every season with the rookies.
Squad deadline only comes twice a year. We mustn't rush the enjoyment. Is it true tiger that there’s more to come!?

This actually requires very little time on your part if you just accept the clearly defined punishment.Oh ffs. I don't have time for this bullshit.
I'm sorry for your loss. When you have had family members pass away this stuff pales in comparison mate. Sorry, but that's the truth.
Thank you.I'm sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear it porps. I hope you are ok.When you have had family members pass away this stuff pales in comparison mate. Sorry, but that's the truth.
Thanks mate.
Okay, I'll do another one. But it may actually require some thought and interpretation from the Committee. Which is always a risky prospect.I come back and you haven't put anymore? C'mon serial_thrilla. Speed it up a bit.
might need someone to sit on the committee for me thenOkay, I'll do another one. But it may actually require some thought and interpretation from the Committee. Which is always a risky prospect.

serial_thrilla right nowSo we started off with rookies being listed on squad submissions without posting on the sub-forum prior. Now let's delve deeper into...RETURNING players: those that have been on a Sweet list in the distant past, but have been "convinced" to return (or have they?).
Once again we return to Rule 4D and off-season free agency:
4D) Free Agency
Off-Season
Free agency occurs between seasons from the earlier of; the elimination of your team from finals or the conclusion of the grand final to squad submission date. Free agents may only be signed with permission. Player movement between clubs is unrestricted with permission of the player. The onus is on the club that is making the signing to be able to, upon request, present evidence of the permission being granted within the free agency period. Instances where a signing is disputed or there is no public evidence of the player's commitment to the club can be subject to such requests.
Players who are new to the league signed during the offseason are required to make a post on the main Sweet FA forum confirming their participation with their club before officially being added to the squad.
Any player movement not specified in the rules is not considered legal. In the event of uncertainty, the club must contact the administrator for consideration with the committee.
What is important here is how we define a "new" player. Is it exclusively a rookie, or are "returning" players grouped in with this too? Because certainly the spirit of the rule would surely be considered the latter. The rule is there to prevent players being signed up to the league without their express consent - and why would we not afford former players this same protection?
Indeed former players are treated exactly the same as new players for In-Season free agency:
In-Season
...
New/Returning Players
The official process for signing players during the season under the new/returning category is that a player who posts an intention to join the league, by posting in the signup thread during a season, will be required to complete the Application form as below...
So what happens here? There are three options in my opinion:
Hawks, for signing boncer34.
- leave the rules exactly as they are with the acceptance that returning players are considered separate to new players, and deserve no protection from unconsented listing.
- change the rules so it clearly states that both new and returning players need to post prior to being listed in a squad via off-season free agency. Any current breaches would need to be rectified immediately.
- accept that the rules are clear enough as is, and charge the following teams with rule breaches:
Hawks, for signing vanders.
Hawks, for signing reggie.
Hawks, for signing A Bit Dusty.
Over to you, Committee & Friends.

I do believe the wording needs to be adjusted here to save any ambiguity moving forward. However it's obvious enough that a returning player should fall under the exact same sign up rules as a new player. IMO they are a new player, having not been on a list immediately prior to being signed. So we started off with rookies being listed on squad submissions without posting on the sub-forum prior.
