SA boys we need to look at drafting

If we trade away our picks then It would have to be for good solid young prospects. Otherwise forget it. Draft picks are for the future and it is essential that we use them wisely. I year trading away for a ready made player meens 1 year delay in player development which would wreck our long term future.

Crow-mo, I pretty much agree with everything you've written. It'd certainly make sense for some clubs to consider trading their draft picks. I just doubt it'll happen.

I agree, especially if you're list is young and inexperienced, taking 2 or 3 experienced heads would be a wise move.

I too doubt it will happen, you always hear this cr@p about 'be patient', 'we're building for tomorrow' etc etc. from the Victorian clubs but it takes ages to build a competent list from scratch.

we cant speculate on drafts such as Everitt and Riewoldt.

Based on previous weak minded Victorians we have had at the club (i.e Johnson & Watts), I would suggest Fantasia wouldn't draft anyone who had material 'pull' to go back home. If the younger Everitt was anything like his older brother he would not fit the psychological profile of the current regime anyway. Sorry, it is a pet hate of mine, these players get paid $200K+ per year and think they can go home whenever they want. Hate to say it but I applaud the Power for releasing Stevens for nothing.

I would love to see Aish drafted assuming that he has some ability. The old man was my idol. The good thing with the Crows at the moment is that the depth runs deep enough to carry 1 or 3 project players. Time will tell.

I thought Caolan Buckley was extremely impressive in the second half, will keep an eye out for him in the remaining matches to see how he fares. Looks as though he likes to get in and under, and has good skills. Also impressive were Jarek and didn’t mind McLean in defence.

18 year old Caolan Buckley had 8 kicks, 7 marks, and 2.1. He's got 5 goals in his first 3 games of league footy.
