Saad over Milera from what little I've seen.

Milera kicked 3.3 last night and it could easily have been 5.1 if he pulled his head in a bit, he gets way too excited when he gets a sniff of the goals.

That can be fixed though. Either way, getting rid of Lyon might revitalise the Saints list. I thought Milera was very good against us last week and Saad looks like a jet. I thought the Saints list was maybe a little on the old side. I think it was more a case of Lyon not playing any younger talent.

Have no idea where your coming from with that call. Two of Mileras goals where just brilliant. Both sides of the body and great depth with his kicks.

One behind he was directly in front with a bit of time and rushed the kick.

Can't remember the other but yeah, nothing against him but he needs a bit more composure to slot the easier goals when they're begging.

Like Rusty Brookes said, it can easily be fixed, but it's something you'd expect a mature age recruit to do a bit better.

I was a bit disappointed once or twice when Milera got in a bit of space and just slammed it on his boot, but that composure will come with maturity. Most of the time I'm loving the look of him with the ball, and it's super exciting to see a small quick Saints forward line, I've been so sick of watching the likes of Carlton and Essendon burst off us with speed over the years and kick exciting goals, good to be able to do the same.

Saad will get shut down and exposed the other way pretty quickly when teams start showing him a bit more respect. He played well last night so credit where it is due but don't think it will last.

Its good to see a side revitalise itself with pace from a couple of youngsters. Milera should be a quality high half forward and Saad has the nippy pace and goal sense closer to goal. Good to see

Considering he was part of your feeder club last season and kicked a lot of goals it would be fair to say Carlton knew a bit about him. Pretty poor coaching by Carlton wouldnt you think?

His pace and goal sense are outstanding, as they were last year. I agree though that he will need to develop more tricks as he goes to make himself more versatile- being a small forward in a team having a bad day is no easy job.

ummm.... what?

TERRY TIME almost made the near-unwatchable Bulldogs-Saints game worth watching. Gotta have sympathy for people labelled with names like TERRY, and scream it out at every opportunity.

I love watching both, but Saad is a sneaky goalsneak with a lot of sneakiness.
Milera a genuine flank-to-flank wingman - love watching him.

Schneider's knackered with these two IMHO!

We don't really have the personel to handle 3 small forwards especially with Yarran out. Besides you can't do much when the opposition is running harder and faster than you all game.

Milera has been a real joy to watch all season.

The amount of candy he's sold already in his short career is incredible.

Made a couple of blues last night and could have kicked 5, but he generally has more poise and time to do what he likes with the footy than just about anyone who has played for St Kilda in the 20+ years I've been following them.

Seems to have eyes in the back of his head and just an extraordinary awareness of where everyone is around him and how to get out of trouble like it's nothing. And then generally hits someone lace out with either the kick (on either feet), or handball.

Pretty sure he was playing SANFL reserves just over a season ago, but was personally tutored/mentored by Gavin Wanganeen for a year and it seems to have made the world of difference to him: http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport...eras-back-pocket/story-e6frepf6-1226339187963

Well it shouldnt have been a suprise to Carlton as to how he plays youd think.

For those that aren't too familiar with him, this clip is the type of stuff he did all the time in the VFL. Clip doesn't show much of his ability to keep his feet but goals like that were pretty common for him.

Ross Lyon leaves the Saints and lo and behold, they unearth some quality young players!

He was a good tactical coach but a SHOCKING list manager. Ross leaving was the best thing that could've happened to St Kilda for their medium-long term future.

Spot on. Good riddance I say. Freo is welcome to him.He only ever looked after his short term future.:thumbsd:

other than running harder and faster ?

Loved his game. Milera too, his shots at goal were good, but for me it was when he had a shot for goal, missed, the ball went coast to coast, and then we found him in the back pocket pinpointing a 30m pass under pressure.

We need about 3 more skilled players in next years draft to replace our clanger kings and we'll be pretty good.

I like that he never, ever looks to handball.
Get the ball = run and kick. Kevin Bartlett would be proud of his blinkers!

Which one? I've seen both of them give off good handballs when appropriate.

Milera generally finds enough space to be able to kick it and his kicking (and vision) is better than almost anyone in our team, so you mostly want him kicking it anyway, but when he's under a heap of pressure he's given off some absolutely fantastic handballs, that have left us wondering how he did it, or how he knew whoever he handballed it to was even there (and they were no fluke).

He's only been getting 12-15 possies a game, so far, playing mostly forward pocket/flank, but if you saw them all (his possies so far) on video, back to back, from the start of the season, you'd see that they are pretty much all of the highest quality, whether kicks, or handballs and the amount of candy he's sold would be very high as well.

He will probably find it harder to sell so much candy from now on, though, as more will be aware that he does it, so they'll be more ready for it.

I love that Saad has only played 2 games in the AFL and everyone is already arguing about whether or not he can perform in big games... Classic BigFooty.
