you would think Cristian and O'Brien would be in Australian calculations

Not even close.

Hauritz has the spinner spot sewn up, and Steven Smith would be his replacement in case of injury.

There are already half a dozen all-rounders in the mix ahead of Dan Christian, such as Shane Watson, James Hopes, Cameron White (apparently the selectors still pick him as an all-rounder, even though Ponting uses him solely as a batsman, because it's well known White can't even bowl at a Grade level anymore), Moises Henriques, Steven Smith, and anyone else in sky blue who can bat a bit and roll the arm over.

I'm also expecting Callum Ferguson to have permanently lost his spot in the side, thanks to his injury.

That’s exactly why cricket will always lose out to football in the everlasting player chase. There is only one or two position per skill in the Australian side and so many worthy players miss out on representing their country. At least in football you know the culture of not having a national side to play for and you will have greater opportunity to play at the top level.

You have a fascinatingly non-literal definition of the word always.

Quite disappointed in ‘Boom Boom’ effort to get a 2 game ban for ball fixing and in Indian/Pakistani politics to not allow him to play for the Red Backs in the champions league.

4th Over
Over 3.6: George to Gayle, no run, worked off the back foot to midwicket, an eventful over!
Over 3.5: George to Gayle, no ball, oversteps, driven off the back foot to mid on
Over 3.5: George to Gayle, two runs, DROPPED, skied very high to mid off, Hastings is moving around and drops it behind
Over 3.4: George to Gayle, FOUR, short ball, pull top edged over Paine
Over 3.3: George to Dowlin, three runs, chipped over midwicket
Over 3.2: George to Dowlin, two runs, guided to third man, Marsh cuts it off on the rope
Over 3.1: George to Gayle, one run, DROPPED, skied high to deep gully, Pattinson makes a meal of it!

Bloody Victorians!

Gayle 146 off 89. S/R - 164.04

Cooper-160 off 120! With 14 4's and 6 6's, sheeesh! Awesome he has had an innings like this against an international side.:thumbsu:

Cooper 162 off 121. S/R - 133.88

West Indies won by 89 runs (Game was reduced to 45 overs per side due to rain). Hopefully they can take this form into the One Dayer's against Australia.

Cooper returns to business as usual, playing on a real pitch rather than a concrete slab in Canberra, with 6 from 18 before being tamely caught behind.

The Deadbacks are now relying on a bonus point win against the Blues and other results to go their way, while the pre-game "out of the competition" Warriors have now leaped into outright second courtesy of a gift wrapped bonus point, and have a far better chance of making the final than we do.

Over 27.5: Knowles to Ludeman, FOUR, wide outside off stump and he slashes hard, edges it high over the slips for four more. 6 runs required now.
Over 27.4: Knowles to Ludeman, SIX, very short ball and he hooks, gets a good piece of it and sends it about 10 rows back over fine leg

Tim Ludeman I could kiss you!
