Not even close.
Hauritz has the spinner spot sewn up, and Steven Smith would be his replacement in case of injury.
There are already half a dozen all-rounders in the mix ahead of Dan Christian, such as Shane Watson, James Hopes, Cameron White (apparently the selectors still pick him as an all-rounder, even though Ponting uses him solely as a batsman, because it's well known White can't even bowl at a Grade level anymore), Moises Henriques, Steven Smith, and anyone else in sky blue who can bat a bit and roll the arm over.
I'm also expecting Callum Ferguson to have permanently lost his spot in the side, thanks to his injury.
That’s exactly why cricket will always lose out to football in the everlasting player chase. There is only one or two position per skill in the Australian side and so many worthy players miss out on representing their country. At least in football you know the culture of not having a national side to play for and you will have greater opportunity to play at the top level.
You have a fascinatingly non-literal definition of the word always.
