Scape Goat Sack Cox

Ok, so I'm a schoolboy. Sue me, but there is something about the two words in this thread heading that makes me smile when they appear together.

I need to grow up.
No you don't, it's always good to have a laugh 🤣

I watched the highlights on afl.com.au this morning. The two things that stood out a little bit were:

1. How weird it was watching the players celebrate with each other (normally rivals on different teams) after goals, especially when they were hugging etc.

2. The way the editor had included a shot of Cox after a string of Vic goals looking unhappy, stressed and not completely in control in the coaches' box.

We still don't know if Coxxy can coach yet.. there were some damning losses last year, games we got spanked in when we were in a comfortable position until he was out coached.. If we're 0-3 it will be alarm bells for mine.

And if we're 3-0, can this thread only focus on the cheap laugh in its title

edit: Im a fan of Cox - nowhere near enough evidence for a Swan supporter to be anything but that.

To be fair to Cox, I would also be tearing my hair out when my midfield consists of Chad, two rucks in Jackson and Cameron, a FWD in Kossie Pickett and aging vets in Coniglio, Cripps and O'Meara and had to somehow match Rowell, Anderson, Bont, Gawn, Butters, Daicos, Merrett, McLuggage, Serong, Xerri and to top of off an aging Dangerfield.

Personally think it's impressive that it was competitive at all.

Looking at the teams, he basically went up against one of the greatest midfields ever assembled on the park. Stars all round.

Closer than I expected, only trailing by 6 pts at the start of the 4th before the Vics ran away with it. Had their moments of monentum here and there but failed to capitalise a few times.

Not to mention losing both Georgiades and Taylor with hamstring awareness concerns

Literally posted in a group chat "Cox out" (half jokingly) when Carlton kicked the first 2 goals of the 2nd half. 12 goals later... SM can confirm
