Given their hands remained down, slightly stiff, suggests they were out for a moment at least and thus should have been subject to protocols

Aliir looked out cold to me. I don’t know how we defend not proceeding with HIA even if he was ultimately cleared. It’s negligence and wreaks of desperation bordering on cheating. Not our best moment on a day that was full of embarrassment.

The impact of jones and allir was sickening to view. Neither player should have been let go back on the field from the tv vision. I really think the afl should investigate this incident and if port adelaide was at all in error throw the book at the club. Not happy with duty of care atm.

Its not a finger pointing exercise.

The AFL should absolutely have something in place to prevent this happening if they are serious about concussion. Its a predictable outcome that a club would do this and we aren't the only one to have done this.

That doesn't mean that we're absolved of any blame. We should have put AA's health above a game of football, especially a game as irrelevant as this one when we're probably going to float in to the top 4 either way.

it doesnt matter what it does or does not look like, the duty of care is always to the player. Bare minimum should be baseline checkup at the least. Coming from someone in the same industry

What I'm looking for if there is any ability on the player to rule themselves out or communicate their mental unease to the doctor?

But then again Port, like a few other teams, is run by the AFL, so any punishment by the AFL punishes itself and its AFL elected representatives who oversee the running and appointmemts wirhin the club. Is that correct?

So after all that, the only player who did not do any test was the Crows player Marshall slammed into the ground.

No faux outrage or concern, no test, no report or suspension for Marshall. Sums it up. Nobody really cares.

As for the “migraine” - I get migraines - I cannot get out of bed and the room has to be dark

I could not possibly sit upright let alone watch a football match with bright lights and loud noise.
If they said Jones had a migraine then I have no doubt they lied about Allir as well

Seems there are two separate tests, the HIA, which sounds like just a head injury check, then the actual concussion test. From the AFL statement it sounded like both had the HIA, but only Lachie had the concussion test.

He passed the concussion test. He had a headache and was subbed off. NOTE - A HEADACHE FROM A HEAD CLASH DOES NOT EQUAL CONCUSSION. He will be assessed during the week and if there are any lingering symptoms that indicate concussion then he will be ruled out next week.
