The club just shared a Chad Wingard highlights video on facebook set to a sweet sounding song.

(It's good but it's not John Butcher highlights set to Summer Rain)

Never forgive and never forget the Hinkley era regime for the joy they stole from us for more than a decade.

We won't truly be healed until every single board member is gone.

Yeah looking back now it's even worse.
Ken basically throwing his hands up saying coaching the most talented player of his generation is too difficult because he doesn't love going to the TAB and won't listen when the total knowledge he had to impart was work harderer

Yep. They framed it as making a tough decision to push out a bad apple and further a premiership push. And then almost immediately announced co-captains. And then continued to absolutely stink it up when it mattered for another 7 seasons.

We could have just kept Chad and sacked Hinkley in 2018.

So bloody well said Matt Walsh

The ‘apprenticeship’ angle the club and media ran with was so weird given Carr turns 46 in April — the same age Hinkley had just turned when he took the reins at the end of 2012.

It’s a bit like how the boys from Silverchair were 15 years old for a decade, apparently Josh was chaired off for the last time circa 2020.

Especially given the reality of 2025 where we just put the cue in the rack so Hinkley could see out the last season of his career without the club having to sack him.

The media really are a pack of morons who don't do their research, or alternatively active mouthpieces for the club. It's pathetic.

Hinkley had a number of flaws but i'm not sure pinning the blame on him for the Wingard trade is correct. The way Wingard spoke of Hinkley last year in the media makes me think there was no bad blood, he just got traded, we aren't even sure if it was more player or club driven but ultimately the way Wingard's career nose dived at Hawthorn it wasn't a even a bad trade.

Without off loading guys that had already peaked in Polec and Wingard, we don't secure all of Rozee, Butters and Duursma. We may have been able to get one of them, not sure but i think it was butters who was the original pick we had.

All up it was a great trade period for us.

Similarly we will look back on the 2024 trade period more fondly as time goes by.

Friendly reminder that we most likely win the 2020 Prelim if Wingard played instead of Ryan Burton who pinged his hammy and Xavier Duursma who dropped an extremely important mark.

My two enduring memories of Wingard are:

When he won the game against the Crows at footy park handling the pressure with ice in his veins.

When he lost the game against WCE at AO with one of the worst kicks from defence ever when he panicked with the ball.

I think scores was level at half time but we had 10 more inside 50’s.
We had enough of the ball to win.

He did very nearly cost us the “Flashpoint Stevie Motlop!” Showdown.

5 points up, he gets a very generous free kick in the backline. But he decided to rush things by trying to hit up SPP in the middle of the ground, but turned it over and that’s when McGovern put the Crows in front with only 42 seconds remaining.

Can't blame Chad for having nothing to kick to in front of him
