I think you’re taking the piss, I saw signs for first time that at least we re playing with some system , like last year perhaps not quite as acute our depth is as thin as a tally ho paper . I watched melb and nm play and they string together some really good passages of play , * up free. If we score 3-5G v melb and don’t get reamed , we will have done well. I actually thought the real gap v Lions was only a few goals, we buggered up simple chances that I hope we can soon rectify , they looked nowhere near as sharp as other winners for the round. Never know we could grind out a W against other battlers like cats or wc . We prob need a day out from Brennan in front of the sticks , it can happen , don’t forget I’ve shot < 80 a couple of times in golf, so anything’s possible

Yeah aren't those Par3 courses great;):D

Don't forget if we can free up Conti a bit more too, that can add to some real chains of footy into our game and lift confidence.

1. Probably
2. Didn't watch so missed those signs :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I started same thread half time of round 1 last year and we came dead last and sacked the bloke 8 weeks later.

This year I "waited" until end of the game partly because I want to give the bloke a chance and mainly because I forgot the game was on.

Careful what you say, with skills like that you'll be in charge of the Vic Quarantine System in no time:tearsofjoy:

Well if you didn’t watch then frankly your assessment means squat

Winning is not important for now, we just want to see some system, smarts around clearances etc. I’m well and truly sticking with Ferg it is a good appointment. He can’t make the players taller faster or jump higher overnight, they just have to be patient and work towards the future. There was some good tenacity against a more athletically gifted team today so that reflects well on the coach.

Sack Sheahan then?

Sack Sheahan then?

Sheahan has proven a poor appointment, had absolutely no idea how to put a list together. This should have been done by an experienced person in hindsight, not a novice. I am all for inclusion and backing people etc but there wouldn’t be too many precedents, if any, to people having babies whilst in such a key role at such a key time in the team’s inception.

No blame, just recognise that you can do better installing somebody more qualified, more astute and with greater focus. And then pull the trigger. Bang. No more Sheahan. 😳

Thought Ferg gave a good interview there after the loss to the Demons. He spoke specifically about the forward line malfunction and what is needed to improve that part of the team’s game. I like the noises coming out of this team this year, also a good interview with Miller post game.

The team seems committed to their strategy and I have seen it many times with teams in the past. At one point you are 8 goals off the pace, but if you don’t panic and stick to good principles, next minute you are 6 goals off then 4. I think the team has no viable alternative than to patiently stick at working towards longer term improvement.

Having said that, we must be a decent chance to notch our first win this next match v the Indian Pacific Company Pty Ltd.

Ferg has been around the traps long enough to know what to do, albeit this is with a different gender of athlete. Whether the fundamentals are truly the same I don't really claim to know, but Ferg is a great people person, so if anyone can navigate the nuances I think he can. The team will continue to improve under his direction I have no doubt. Whether he has that additional strategic quality, I'm not sure. It doesn't help he is effectively driving a Ford Escort at Bathurst in the same race as HO's and XU1s

Yeah he's taking the piss
It's all coming together slowly but surely, have to be patient
Yeah been there shooting 80 in golf, then going back to consistently shooting 100 again and cracking the shits, destroying a lot of golf clubs, screaming and swearing at each hole, not a good look when you have a group of 4 ladies playing after your group 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

.....group of 4 ladies who hit max 75m each shot but straight down the middle and manage to par every hole while we smack it 250m and cover more ground than the Nankervis brothers. Now that is irritating.
